Well I certainly can't and probably wouldn't vouch for their personal character, that's for sure.

But it's common for people to associate the performance of their professional duties with their personal character. Understandable, even. And it's not as if its an easy thing to explain for that matter, like when a 5 year old asks their dad why, if God loves us, He allows terrible wars, natural disasters, and tragedy to happen. It's just the way the law works.

I didn't mean to accuse you of associating the two necessarily. I'm sure you know how it works.

Good stuff tonight Brother. About a very unsavory subject unfortunately. I'm a little used to it, my father was a judge and attorney for almost 30 years. In Hoc!

If confident you win it the 1st time, IMO no reason to not feel as confident the 2nd time or even more so with the verdict coming so quickly

Different jury... Different risk. Prosecution will feel emboldened...might not offer a great deal, but they'll offer one.

Didn't know where to post this but here goes:

We've had a swarm of individuals dedide to walk on to the team for the spring due to what I believe is the success of our program or at least the excitement surrounding it. cant help but believe we are back to our days of having an exciting program that everyone wants to be a part of
I think I understand what your saying GFW.Gotta read between the lines. Some of those walk ons wouldn't be 4 and 5 national recruits would they.Starting to see how Butch may pull this off numbers wise.

Butch is going for the "bad news sandwich."

He's going to let DR commit early on NSD to set off the boom cannons, announce DeBord as OC to minimize its yawn-inducing impact, then let an as of yet unknown 5-stah commit immediately after.

The man is a PR genius.

If that happens. Who's going to be the QB coach?

Reeves-Maybin to wear #21 next year

I never got the impression that the defense attorney here was particularly intelligent, but if he knew about the juror's rape and let her go through anyway just to get the verdict tossed after seeing the prosecution's strategy...

Now that's some strategery, as Dubya would say.

You can't bank on the verdict being overturned and getting a new trial. If he knew that she was the victim of a rape, he would have kicked her off. So, they apparently didn't know that. You try your case as best you can and the one thing you do for appellate purposes is preserve your record.

I have seen the discussion about it. I will hit 10 years as a defense attorney later this year. Sometimes you just get very tough cases, and you do the best you can. I didn't follow the specific evidence in this case because I keep up with enough of my own daily work.

Recruiting is so funny. 2-3 months ago, these were my thoughts:

1. Sapp has waited too long, and seems uninterested. Staff has probably moved on.
2. We have a killer DE class. Forget Phillips and his drawn out drama with Amadi.
3. Ignore the Richmond thread. Nothing but Memphis talk in there anyways.

lol.

Is that so Kirkland can have 34, is that his preferred number, or both?

JRM gave up the #34 to help sway Kirkland to Tennessee. I'm sure he would've came either way but it's still an awesome gesture.

Jalen better be one of the defensive captains next year. He's a hell of a guy.

With the talent we are pulling bam bam could be named our coach and I wouldn't care.

It was a cool move by JRM... I remember when I first saw he was doing this and I thought - selfishness not a problem. This guy is a VFL!
