Southern Miss basketball under NCAA investigation (Tyndall)

Interesting to me regarding Suarez. He was the Pg that many here assumed CDT would bring with him as he was a huge need.

Maybe Tyndall didn't want to bring the baggage or our Compliance said no.

That last sentence there...been curious about that, real curious about it.

Good luck picking between the two or three that are 100% clean

There's a big difference in "Oops, an assistant accidentally called a recruit 7 times instead of the allowed 6" (guessing on the numbers here) and "I need this recruit so bad that I'm going to willingly know that he has falsified transcripts and getting grades altered."

I understand things happen, but this type of negligence and possible intentional disregard to the rules is what I have an issue with.

Negligence and intentional disregard.....no one even knows what happened or how much CDT was involved yet.....

Rasham Suarez was the other PG we were trying to get to come to UTK right? And after about a ~month Suarez comes out wants to stick to his USM commitment? Obviously something was going on other than USM being a "fantastic school and program". Lol.

Is this the guy that USM's compliance dept allegedly approved ?

USM AD McGillis tells me: "I'm very disappointed our new HC Doc Sadler has to deal w/ this kind of adversity that was not of his making."

Southern Miss compliance Department at work.

Southern Miss AD Bill McGillis: "We're facing adversity (in men's basketball), and we've got more adversity coming."

I don't know the context of that comment.

The bolded speaks volumes imo

BTO, all the head honchos are gone, it looks like the first thing the new AD did was bring in his own compliance guy. The head of compliance at USM at that time is now an assistant compliance guy at Memphis, he was a USM grad with a family...in other words, in my eyes it looks like he took a lesser job, but I admit, I'm not sure and I haven't connected all the dots.

Don't bother BTO while she's trying to to belittle our coach for the millionth time lol

Certainly, I don't want to get into the middle of the ongoing, meaningless, squabble regarding coaches past and present.

Carry on.

USM's Shadell Millinghaus is in uniform and warming up with the team.

Sadler wanted a clean slate, when he got in there and saw what was going on it appears to me he immediately went to his AD and they turned things over to the NCAA, USM is trying to wipe their hands clean.

I don't know about that...I mean I can't be sure about what Sadler knew or when he knew it. That said, I think the new AD figured out some things, he was in kind of a spot.

I don't know how much that matters though. People are focused on the current players and I'm not sure that is all there is to think about here.
