Southern Miss basketball under NCAA investigation (Tyndall)

Donnie Tyndall was so desperate in his recruiting that he went to the College of Central Florida and begged the professors to change their grades. The guy can't coach and he can't recruit either without cheating according to some of these jokers.

Gotta be impressed by his Mafia skills...putting horse heads in all kinds of beds. :)

:)

Best thread ever. :)

This seems to be getting better for CDT I think . If it's something about their academics previous to USM

Southern Miss could have as few as 6 players available tonight for the Marshall game. Sadler may have to play Shadell Millinghaus.

Initially it was prop 48 and couldn't find anything . Something like grades at a JUCO isn't gonna fall on CDT . That's more on the player and JUCO

Nah...he got into their interweb...man's an assassin. :aggressive:

Keep in mind that getting juco players eligible many many times involves online classes from paper mill universities.

Very possible that work might not have been done by the student athlete in such classes or the class not be legit

I had a former college roommate of mine ask me to do one of his players' algebra 2 exam for him. He coaches at one of the big time prep schools. I shot that down real quick. Shady stuff man.

The initial story by Jason King, by the way who hasn't been heard from since, three months ago centered on two players involving Prop 48. That charge was so insignificant when Tyndall was interviewed by the NCAA was that it was dropped and emphasis shifted to academic improprieties. One of those players is the leading scorer on the USM team and the other left the team but the new coach said it had nothing to do with the investigation. So scratch off players 1 & 2. Player 3 in this latest JC hoopla never even played for Tyndall. He was a junior JC transfer this year. Player 4 is the only one who played for Tyndall last year. Once again, both were dismissed for academic discrepencies regarding their enrollment at USM which Donnie Tyndall would have had absolutely nothing to do with.

But no. According SD and others this stuff never happens. What college coach wouldn't benefit from this?

Both players were recruited by Tyndall. What's so hard to understand?

Was this player attending the same institution your friend coached at? Every coach worth his salt fixes grades for athletes at OTHER schools. :)

Not True.

One of those players is the leading scorer on the USM team and the other left the team but the new coach said it had nothing to do with the investigation.

Partially True. I suppose you are referring to Millinghaus as the player who left, he's been back with team for two weeks and the coach said he would not be allowed to play this season unless required(injuries, suspensions etc...)...he may play tonight. To be clear, Millinghaus was being punished by Sadler for leaving and that part is unrelated to the NCAA stuff as far as I know.

As for players you term 3 and 4, Tyndall recruited both of them, both committed to him. Whatever academic stuff went on, Tyndall was the man in charge at the time.

I just hate having coaches who can't keep their noses clean. I want to win in all sports, but not at the expense of all this. I don't think it's too much to ask for that.

You're kind of reacting preemptively...you're all outraged devoid of facts...let it play out and follow Kentucky...they're a violation factory. :)

Interesting to me regarding Suarez. He was the Pg that many here assumed CDT would bring with him as he was a huge need.

Maybe Tyndall didn't want to bring the baggage or our Compliance said no.
