Poke fun if you want, but let the dollar fall from being the reserve currency and there will be war.

OK

Russia mulls censuring 'annexation' an East Germany, some 25 years late

The speaker of the Russian parliament's lower house, Sergei Naryshkin, ordered lawmakers from its foreign affairs committee to consider the appeal arguing that the absorption of the post World War II communist state of East Germany - officially known as the German Democratic Republic (GDR) - into a reunified Germany in October 1990 was illegal.

Interfax reporting the DPR Ministry of Defense saying that the Minsk Accords are dead and that 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers are trapped in the Debaltseve pocket. I would caution that because most reports say that not completely encircled.

#Russia refuses financial aid 4 #Moldova's breakaway region #Transdniestr 4 the first time. Got financial problems?

Maybe you can help out and buy Greek bonds. Great investment. That country is definitely headed in the right direction.

Remember that guy Russia poisoned? Finally an inquiry.

Public Inquiry Into Death Of Former KGB Agent Litvinenko Starts : NPR

I'm not so sure the US doesn't do the same stuff. I encourage you to look into the life of Gary Webb. His life was absolutely destroyed after writing an expose on the CIA running drugs during the Iran Contra fiasco. There was a full assault on his professionalism so that he couldn't find a job anywhere; even his marriage was destroyed. I have seen critiques of his work that say he didn't properly source his information, but that doesn't mean it wasn't true (In fact I believe the CIA has admitted it). But I've yet to see a good explanation about how he committed suicide by shooting himself twice in the head... with a revolver.

lol, i would love to see the look on a German's face if you were to suggest what the article is implying

the problem now is that there is little Germany, or NATO, could do to stop Russia should Putin decide to reignite the Cold War.

The Cold War sure. I guess being born after it and getting most of history of the Cold War from 007 (almost sarcasm) i don't see much of a problem with a new Cold War. it turn hot then yeah, but as a Cold War seems little different than what we are doing now.

I think a new Cold War has already been reignited. I'm just hoping the hot wars are contained to the smaller players. Heaven forbid the alternative..

The banks that new Greece couldn't repay, so they could come in and privatize Greek resources at pennies on the dollar and have perpetual serfs.

I just read that votes on EU sanctions have to be unanimous. Greece has put itself in a very interesting bargaining position. I suspect both sides will try to earn their favor. On the one hand, they can ask for their debt to be expunged for their vote or they can see what the Russians will offer. Of course, they are playing big boy geopolitics so they could get their own version of Maiden.

just curious, how would the BRICS deal be any different? just a different name on the lease. you pretend they would offer a better deal? better for the people of Greece or better for BRICS?

I was mainly referring to the notion of Putin's Russia deciding they wanted East Germany back. Which seemed to be the implication of the article.

I haven't paid close attention to it, so I could be wrong, but, as I read it, the proposed article is that the reunification of Germany was a deposing of a legitimate East German government. The whole thing is merely a political stunt to criticize the West for its behavior towards the deposing of the Yany govt. and the Russian annexation of Crimea. I'm not sure whether even the Russian Duma, a parliament with members who make our quacks in Congress seem rational at times, really even believes the premises of the article. Just show.
