Such a "sky is falling" mentality when there is speculation of hiring a guy that VN doesn't find a "splash hire" or fit what YOU are looking for. Never mind what the head coach, who spends everyday with the kids, staff, recruits wants. He has paved an amazing road so far so why do we doubt his vision and who he has in mind to be a part of it.
VN would rather make arguments to fit their agenda like he hasn't been employed since 2007. When was the last time Gruden was "employed" but you would have jumped on him and his absence from coaching would have been absolutely ok. Give it a rest and let the big boys do their job and steer the ship.
old story here but it seems even Fulmer wasnt impressed with DeBord On the Prospects of Mike Debord as UT's Next Coordinator - Rocky Top Talk
I read the first 5+ pages and started losing faith humanity. Long blocks of text about how terrible a hire this is, Butch is too loyal, etc.
The guy who started this **** thread has no idea and people start licking windows and freaking out.
Wait for an actual source and breathe with your mouth closed please.
Can't be excited about DeBord. He's too old, wasn't successful as a head coach, and Michigan has not exactly been cutting edge when it comes to offense, even if he won a national title with the ugly helmets years ago. I'd like to see someone proven but younger, who is hungry.
DeBord was OC several years ago when Michigan was successful. At Michigan, he served as offensive line coach from 1992-1996. In 1997, he was promoted to offensive coordinator. During DeBord's first year as offensive coordinator in 1997, Michigan won their first national championship since 1948. As the offensive coordinator at Michigan, DeBord posted a 5211 record.

In 1997 Urban Meyer was the WR coach at ND, Les Miles was the TE coach for the Cowboys, Spurrier was winning big at Florida and Saban was the HC at Michigan St. The youngest is Meyer at 50.
