Possible OC Candidates

Loeffler is complete and total garbage.

I'll really question Butch's decision-making if we hire the guy that is taking Virginia Tech's offense from terrible to close to the worst in the country.

It wasn't an endorsement for the hire. The previous poster said it was Debord Mallet was following where I thought it was Loeffler.

I think that we need to be looking into any relationships that the possible OC candidate may have with Butch. I believe Butch will want someone that he has worked with before and is comfortable with.

how bout
Tony Franklin- OC Cal
Before people bash him he has the #13 offense in the nation, playing in the Pac 12 which has a history of good offenses, he previously coached at Auburn and kentucky where he was also OC, so has SEC experience and recruiting pattern knowledge.
He also is reportedly a great QB developer.
He runs the spread offense, different form the read option, however I presume he can adapt to Jones's system.

He is expensive though; currently $505K

Franklin would be a great hire, but I don't see that happening.

George Quarles is probably a good coach, but OC, at a major university, I'm not sure about. Think he would make a great position coach.

Jesus what a weak list. I guess Butch is gonna go low ball. Oh well.

Pretty weak list, IMO. First, promoting a position coach to OC at an SEC program that is in serious need of great coaching and conference wins is a big risk. Don't do it. I don't think pa. state has been known for its great offenses lately but maybe I'm wrong. I hope this isn't the list.

Totally agree. This list just confirms my suspicions of Butch going low ball and familiarity.

And does anybody really think Tee Martin is ready to be an good SEC OC? I don't. We need somebody with some chops. When this program was at its best, we had David Cutcliffe running the offense--a guy with big-time expertise. Please don't hire somebody who hasn't already been a proven OC.
