Crompton

I think I remember that he got hurt on the 7th play of the opening drive against UCLA. It was one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

Crompton is no less local than BJ. Waynesville may even be a little close to UTK than Chattanooga.

UT has long owned the best of WNC. The only one's that got away were Jimmy Streater's younger bros (UNC) and Sam Gash (Penn St). They got Jimmy, Leonard Little, Mickey Marvin, Heath Shuler, Shawn Bryson, Carl Pickens, and Crompton.

He's local to Chattanooga which was my point. People from there are often more exposed to a local kid and support him. That's fine until you start bashing another kid because the local one you like better (because you sure haven't seen him play in college). I find it rediculous at best and then I get accused of peeing on my leg. Geez, just an angry poster I guess. Anyways, I'm from Nashville and I enjoy watching kids like John Henderson, Cory Fleming, etc. etc. etc. do well at UT and beyond.....but not to the point I start bashing other players because my local kid played well in high school....it's just inane at best....

Shuler, Martin, Clausen and Ainge either all had an unestablished starter or NO backup in front of. Want to talk about bad comparisons? BJC had a 3 year starter and a RS Soph in front, no reason to waste eligibility.

Running back through this thread... I cant believe I overlooked this one. I think there's about 7 YEARS
worth of really good quarterbacking you missed out on evidently. I was running back through this one and it would have eaten away at me if I let this one slide.

Anyone want to help 817?

Did I miss an ultimately meaningless game... yes. For this ... no. It wont mean anything unless they win the Super Bowl.

Totally agree, but it was a fun game to watch. The Giants played pretty inspired football... just not enough to win. Hated to see PM's record broken, but Randy Moss adds so much to the Pats offense and Brady hit him in perfect stride on the record breaker.

Concernig this thread, I've been looking forward to seeing JC start.

BJ will get his chance in the spring, but I don't see JC losing the job to him. Stephens is the more relevant concern for BJ.

I hope BJ is everything Vols817 claims he will be.

Records are made to be broken... and another thing about the Pats... they are a great football team when they feel like they are the underdog. It was something that Belichek was always good at... making his team feel like they got no respect and giving them motivation. I dont care how good a coach Belichek is, there is no way they can feel like the underdog after finishing the regular season 16-0 and breaking all those records. Rice BTW.... set his records in 12 games... top that Moss!!! I just think it will be interesting to see how they do as frontrunners in their own eyes.

OK, so out of this qoute from me:

Me said:

You chose to point out the words Shuler, Martin and unestablished starter, yet for some reason, but sticking with your style, you didn't acknowledge the words "either" or "or NO backup in front of them". Just another example why you are a complete waste of my time. You have a serious problem putting more than one concept together in your brain at the same time, I hope you get that straight.

Are you serious? OK... I'll break this down Barney style... geez... I cant belive I have to do this.

OK.... here we go... If it were a BACKUP... they would play... anyone.... anyone.... behind them. I thought that would go without saying...

Do I really have to be the one to break it to you that yes Shuler and Martin did indeed have established starters in front of them as Freshmen? Either way... yes... I guess I do have a hard time following your thought process here... am I the only one? You sure you're not a Bammer 817?

Wow. Just wow.

The point to saying that was that those guys had an established starter in front of them, but not a backup, so they couldn't just redshirt and sit there like BJC did since JC was already the established backup.

If you still don't understand, I'd find the nearest Wal Mart, buy a rifle and shoot myself in the f'ing face if I were you, and please, for the love of God, NEVER, EVER EVER reproduce.

and you just lost any credibility you might have had with that ridiculous comment. Absolutely worthless

The world would be better off. You don't have to like it, but it doesn't make it any less true. The inability to be able to comprehend me breaking it down the way I did would be all the evidence one would need to know they were wasting perfectly good oxygen.

OMFG.... you said...and I quote:

"Shuler...Martin....UNestablished starter"

Please tell me you've heard the names Andy Kelly and Peyton Manning.

To use a great quote:

"Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?"

OMG.... it just hit me... Forrest Gump is a real person. You know what.... it's official... talking to you is like talking to a box of hair :mf_surrender:

You win... Start Coleman. Im sure he'll go 52-0 for the next 4 years.

I'm pretty sure that during Tee Martin's freshman year, Jermaine Copeland was the clear backup to Peyton Manning.

OK... Andy Kelly was the ESTABLISHED starter before Heath Shuler and Peyton Manning was the ESTABLISHED starter before Tee Martin... I just thought I would point that out as yet another error you have made.

Ooops.... I pissed myself again... sorry... I cant help it.

OK... really:mf_surrender:

You win.... Coleman is the best.... Crompton sucks and Coleman is the best. Go Chatanooga.

Yeah, go back and check how many snaps JC took and how many TM took that year, then get back to me.

You are still missing it, I wasn't saying that ALL those didn't have established starters, some of them did, they just didn't have a backup in front of them.

Last time I'm saying it, if you don't get it, I can't help you.
