I certainly think they contribute but again, this comes back to the gov't. Can we really blame business for lobbying politicians when politicians write laws that effect negatively or positively certain industries? We should let the market decided who wins and loses.
Well of course, any business should be very informed on potiental regulations headed their way. The answer however is not to just let them buy politicans and then they no longer have to worry about negative regulations. Which at this point, is pretty much what we have. This essentially creates a government that has MORE control over every aspect of our life. So for everyone that wants a samller government you will not be getting it while lobbying is still practiced the way it currently is. Why wouldn't you pick winners and losers if someone was waiting to hand you thousands of dollars. Once again it isn't a liberal or conservative issue but a rampant tainting of our political process that both sides practice. While calling liberals idiots and blaming them for everything certainly is fun in the tiny conseravtive bubbles that you live in, it doesnt address anything of substance. Anyone we elect will accept bribes to pick winners and losers so that argument has been proven wrong over and over again.
