Two NYPD Officer Ambused in Patrol Car

de Blasio is going to have a big fight on his hands now with the NYPD, not good for a mayor of a big city.

Nah nah he will be fine. He has called for the NYPD to have better relations with minorities. So what does that mean? Stop arresting criminals? Ignore the crime hotspots? I'm sure the white areas are teeming with just as much crime right? Right? More patrols in the white areas! Keep the cops out of the hood.

NYPD needs to be more progressive by ignoring criminals. Thats what we call police minority relations reform. Stop patrolling high crime areas for starters. This will take the communities trepidation down a few notches. Once the patrols stop and the citizens of these high crime areas see that the police aren't there to harass them for "no good reason" then everything will just magically fix itself. <--This is called modern liberal reform (aka sorcery). The happiness unicorn will fly over on a rainbow on newports and shower everyone with lottery tickets and air jordans. Everything will be right in the hood when the cops leave. No more black on black crime caused by the cops. No more unwed mothers and unwanted children leading to a cycle of despair and violence caused by cops. No more lack of self respect or respect for human life that was caused by the continuous law enforcement presence.

I believe this is a sound strategy for fixing relations. I really think these communities would be on the rebound and set the example for the other 99% of the country who follow the law.

I would agree with you, but again I ask the question of why the NYPD is getting blamed? These shirts were made by supporters and the police have no control over that.

Supporters have just as much right to make them as the Ferguson protestors do to make the "hands up, don't shoot" ones.

If I did come across that way, I didn't mean to blame the NYPD for the shirts.

Dude come on. If you dont have empathy to the supposed down trodden and/or disagree with any left wing mentality you are wrong/part of the problem.

Obviously these cops were innocent men that in no way deserved this outcome. However, with cases of police brutality becoming more commonplace, I am afraid we will see an increase of violence towards the police as a consequence. I feel so bad for their families this holiday season.

Commonplace?

Where are your numbers coming from?

Do you have the first clue about how many arrests happen a day in this country? How many of those actually end up in some sort of " brutality " case?

How many of those " brutality " claims end up being false accusations because a person is upset they were arrested and want to get back ar the officers?

The problem in this hole situation is that 1% of the population was given a voice by the race baiters and now its gotten out of hand. There isn't an epidemic of racist cops, or these racists cops killing black men.

More white males are killed by LE every year in this country by police than black males

More black males have been killed this year in Chicago, by other black men, than have been killed in the last 10 years by police.

My mistake.

But it surely hasn't stopped a whole hoop of others from doing it. Of course disinformation serves their purpose more than the truth so situation normal...

I peruse the local mug shot blotter on the daily. While these mugshots do not represent the total arrests I am sure we have at LEAST 500 people arrested weekly in Orlando.

The cops who beat Kelly Thomas to death, THAT was police brutality. He yelled "I can't breathe" and cried for his father to help him. Where was that outrage? Where were the protests there? This guy was homeless and schizophrenic. How come the NBA/NFL didnt have players wearing shirts then that said "I cant breathe"? Where was Sam Jackson to lead us all in a police brutality song?
Why? Racism. An innocent white man gets tasered 5 times, has broken ribs, cranial fractures, brain trauma, choking on his own blood and no one really gives it much thought. No reason to march..just a white guy right? NO marching. No looting. A bit of complaining about police brutality, but thats it.

But then everyone loses their marbles over a couple of thug ass criminals. That shows where are society is and headed, down the toilet. And its the public's reaction to these two instances that makes me not give two sh!ts about the protesters or their cause. Jumping on the racism bandwagon is like the new romanticized civil rights movement.

This is getting lost. The throngs are tripping over themselves trying to assign blame to the 'other side'.

A crazy man murdered two and killed himself. Blaming the mayor and the president is fuqing retarded.

The Crazy guy was certainly who is to blame but there's something to be said for the Mayor making the comments he did and facilitating an idea that this would be okay and that he would be seen as a hero to the people and a Martyr.

No. Believing he would be a martyr is still crazy.

Blaming anyone but the murderer is asinine.

The reason you only have one like (from Tim no doubt) is because it is a mockery. I don't know how else people are supposed to take the message. If they aren't mocking Garner, what are they saying? That thanks to cops, we enjoy the breath of life? I don't get what else it could be, but a mockery. They took his last words and completely changed the meaning into a phrase that doesn't make sense as a rallying cry for them.

If they made shirts that say "I'll sleep safely tonight" or something like that, I'd totally understand what their message is, but "I can breathe" just sounds like a slap in the face.

Actually he now has 3 likes and I just gave him the third one.

The fact that you see it as a slap in the face is pretty telling of your maturity level. The shirts worn by the police supporters is a counter to the Garner supporters, not Garner. Also, Im pretty sure Garner died from cardiac arrest not suffocation.

Once people mature they begin to see the world as it is, not how their professor told them it is.

First off how did the cops mock the dead? Eric Garner was not wearing one of the shirts the dumbass people perpetuating a falsehood were.

Secondly, I thought guns were illegal in NYC...

That looks photoshopped to me.

Blame for the Murder can be placed on the Murderer while still criticizing the Mayor for his rhetoric that could possibly incite such behavior.

Did you read the comments on Twitter, he is a hero to many. I was disappointed to read those comments. Have people gone crazy?

Yea it's kind of like The Gabby Gifford shooting except Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh weren't chanting "What do we want? Dead Cops. When do we want them, Now"

No, social media and mb's allow people to say what they really feel. The world is full of good and bad, problem is they all look the same.

Im afraid that this escalates into both sides trying to "out ridiculous" the other. Although, I agree that the "I cant breathe" shirts are unfathomably stupid I also feel giving them notice by creating a rebuttal shirt is a way of recognizing them. I think stupid people should be ignored and when ignored they lose their platform. Its as if the stupid have to say more and more ludicrous things to get noticed.

I completely disagree for the reasons I already stated.

Perceived mockery is just that; perceived.

The message is intended to directly counter the message of the protestors and makes sense to me in that capacity. When I look at it I don't see mockery at all.

If you prefer to be offended by it then so be it.

I guess I could argue "hands up, don't shoot" is mocking the officer from Ferguson by ascribing actions to him that witnesses claim did not happen but I understand the symbolic meaning intended.
