He has great hands out of the backfield. 4.4 40 so he hits the edge and is a vapor trail

Watching his hudl, I thought this kid is either playing against scrubs or related to Barry sanders. Being from LA doubt he's playing scrubs

I don't think he's necessarily a "burner" like some posters are claiming. If he runs a 4.4, which judging by his highlights he's close, and he's 210 lbs then he's a phenomenal size/speed guy. Couple that with the fact that hes an extraordinarily low center of gravity and the fact that he lives in the endzone... kid is special.

He'll be a rock solid 220 lbs at some point in his UT career with the speed he has now. He's going to make it rough on some poor kid that just tried to tackle Jalen Hurd on the previous play.

Edit: I take it back. The kid ran a 10.3 100m. He's a burner.

"It was very frustrating," Malone admitted after practice earlier this week. "I knew after the Ole Miss game that I could have kept building off those performances and break into the 100s (in yards in a game), but I just felt like I got slowed down. I missed a big year that I could've had.

"I wouldn't say there was a low point," he added. "I was more frustrated after the injury. I couldn't open up as much as I wanted to. I couldn't do the stuff that I was doing going through that middle stretch of the year."

I'm stoked about picking up Bussey. Prior i just thought he was a wishy washy recruit with a controling father and for all the talent it smelled like a Bryce Brown situation. To read his dad, mom and him talking about his dream since 10 of being a Vol and him not getting an initial offer he sold me. Consider me a convert and that includes if he ends up taking Reid's spot as much as I am a Reid homer.

Would love to see Malone go off in the bowl game. It's a perfect opportunity for him. I imagine Pearson and Pig will get a lot of attention and he will be able to fly under the radar a bit.

That would be a nice way to bounce back for him. I just hope the oline is double up because that single ply against Vandy wasn't stopping ****.

Would love to see the whole team go off. If we win by 3 TDs or so, there's going to be major buzz headed into national signing day and the offseason. Should help recruiting and give us at least a very small chance of being ranked to start next season.

Fun times are ahead!

If we win convincingly, then land a top 5 class this place will have us winning the national title in 2015 by the time the season rolls around. :)

I don't think Iowa will move the ball very well on us. If we had AJ I don't think they would score 14.

Now that I understand more from the article, I fully agree. It looks like it might all be coming together for Josh and that is a great thing for the team and Vol fans. I hope he goes off on Iowa.

Barton Simmons seems impressed with our new RB stable

Don’t get the wrong idea about Kendall Bussey based on his quickness, versatility and short stature, or the recruiting analysts who occasionally have described him as an all-purpose back.

Three-star running back Kendall Bussey, who committed to Tennessee on Friday, is ranked the nation's No. 347 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
The three-star senior running back from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans, who announced his commitment to Tennessee on Friday, undoubtedly possesses some of the characteristics of an all-purpose back. But 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons said that label doesn’t exactly fit Bussey.
“I’m not sure that really is an accurate or fair representation of what he kind of is,” Simmons said of Bussey, who’s ranked the nation’s No. 347 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite for the 2015 class.
“While he’s got a shiftiness to his game and he is capable of catching the ball out of the backfield and doing a lot of things, he’s a really stout, physical, thick kid when you see him in person.
“For that reason, I think he’s the type of guy that can probably fill a lot of different roles in a running-back corps. I think he can be an every-down back. I think he probably is the type of guy that starts his career as a third-down type of back and then can sort of develop into an every-down type of guy.
“He’s short but he’s a big kid, and I think that his running style reflects that.”
His running style also could make him the 5-foot-8, 205-pound Bussey a good fit for Tennessee’s spread offense, Simmons said.
“I think he’s got the ability to protect the quarterback,” Simmons said. “I think he’s got the ability to catch the football, and he’s a guy that can sort of dip in and out from behind those big offensive linemen and be effective that way.
“His versatility, his center of gravity, I think those are sort of factors that are going to allow him to be a nice fit for what Tennessee does offensively.”
Bussey joined four-star running back Alvin Kamara of Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College and three-star prospect Rocky Reid of Concord (N.C.) High School as the third running back in the Vols’ class.
Simmons said Bussey, much like Kamara and Reid, seems to be capable of contributing early at Tennessee. But Simmons said the depth of the Vols’ running-back class might allow them to take their time developing Reid and Bussey.
“The good news for Tennessee is, even though they’re getting a couple of high-school backs that have the type of frame that makes you think that they could contribute early, I think those guys are going to have the opportunity to sort of develop and take their time, because Alvin Kamara, I think he’s got the potential to be a stud immediately,” Simmons said.
“That’s a backfield that’s got a lot of depth in this class, and they’re all guys that are going to look the part on the field. And, because you have one juco and two high-school guys, I think it works with regard to just sort of the spacing and the depth on the roster.
“I think they’re all guys that are going to be able to contribute in the future.”

Watch the commitment video. If words convinced you his father was a good dude then the vid will show you he's a good dude. The family made a conscious decision to make the right decision.

As some of you know, Nike has designed special uniforms for the 4 playoff teams. They released Alabama's today. Pretty sharp imo.

What several are failing to see on this site is there ARE dads out there who are consumed with wanting the best for their kid.

There are dads who spend countless hours working with their kids on very minute aspects of their position. They spend unreal amounts of money in an attempt for the kid to fulfill their dream.

You could see the pride rolling down his face. Some call it controlling, I call it being a great dad.

I guess it depends on whose dream is being fulfilled.
