Agree about Kamara he I believe is the ideal type RB for this offense. I love Hurd but Kamara brings a different type RB to this offense and they will compliment each other well.

Definitely agree on that. I've see kamara in person multiple times and every time I was like I want this kid at ut bad.

Oh yea I expect we will see a lot from those 2 next yr. And would think the carries would be pretty split up and it keeps Hurd from having to shoulder the RB load by himself. Especially when Lane was hurt he was getting the majority of the carries and still getting used as a receiver out of the backfield and not to mention blocking. Can't expect him to hold up a full season doing that but help is on the way.

Hurd? Dude is about as big as a rb gets. And only going to get bigger as he fills out.

If you've got a RB who runs between the tackles, and your biggest complaint is that he can't out run the secondary.... You've acquired yourself a pretty good deal

Per Hubbs

There's some uncertainty surrounding Rocky Reid as he had to debunk some reports out there on Thursday that he and Tennessee had parted ways. But, the reality remains Reid plans on taking multiple visits during January to at least Georgia and Louisville and possibly Georgia Tech.

Reid has garnered some praise this week for his work at the Shrine Bowl practices and there are a number of people interested to see who has the better performance on Saturday between him and Johnny Frasier.

Wrong. You clearly haven't seen recruits and active player's parents posting on this board (ex ... Croom's mom and Sanders' dad). I think it's a bad idea for them to be here but it happens. And we only really see the parents who are willing to post. How many of them are lurking?

If the coaches decide to take Reid, I'm all for it.
If the coaches decide to not take Reid, I'm fine with that too.

That being said, some of these open letters/posts directly to Reid, at the hands of grown men, are pretty effin pathetic. Your pleas are not going to have any impact on the final outcome.

Put down the mouse, and step away from the keyboard.

I can't wait for the Shrine Bowl this Saturday. It will give us a very good comparison of Reid and Frasier. Frasier is a back that any would be happy with, so if Reid looks just as good or even better against equal competition, I think many opinions on this board will change. If he looks subpar compared to Frasier, then many Reid haters will be validated. Oh how I love silly season.

A few of you might remember, the Shrine Bowl is where Montario Hardesty made himself a definite take. It is also where Emanuel Moseley quieted a lot of doubters last year.

I would think IF the staff wanted him so badly they would've have probably reached out to VQ and told them to STFU. When Hubbs and Fort report that it looks like he probably won't be a part of the class it carries a bit more weight than the fans.

I have no idea what the staff is going to do or has done here with Reid. I do know they are already aware of Bussey's knee ligament strain because that is out in the media reports. Why pursue that situation when you know for a fact you are going to need a 3rd and possibly a 4th RB to play next season? Reid is exactly who they need IMO, because he has proven to be a workhorse that is durable and can get tough yards with a good burst through the hole for more. At every point in his growth curve he has excelled.

Could be a serious threat both running the ball and special teams.
We need Reid at UT!

As far as recruits reading the message board talk, at least when it comes to VN you better bet somebody close reads this. you google any of our recruits and the VN thread about them is in the top ten choices. the player may not read it but someone else easily could and then the player has someone close to him saying 'VN thinks you aren't going to end up at TN'; you think that helps us? we have had multiple players/commits/parents on here telling us they read this. look at weatherd last year, Phillips has a couple cousins on here, etc.

At this point I hope he stays with us just to completely destroy the rumors which have become conventional wisdom. It needs to happen somewhere at least once to keep everyone on their toes.
