JMO, if you're going to drink and you're underage, do it at a house or in your dorm. Don't be in a public setting.

Asking for trouble.

A spokesman for the Knox County District Attorney's office did not respond to a request for information about whether Hurd faced any criminal charges. Hurd is not listed in a public database of pending Knox County cases.

A spokesman for the football team refused to comment on whether Hurd, a freshman, faces internal discipline over the incident.

The University of Tennessee police report at the time of the citation noted that the incident involved underage drinking, confiscated items, an alcohol incident and a sick person. A subsequent initial incident report noted that the case was referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

Doubt much comes of it

FTR, residents of Tennessee get cited and booked for underaged drinking. He will be booked and court will expunge it from his record.

As for Butch being hard on players, I'd ask the players of the last two double conference championship teams he coached if they're upset he was hard on them. An applause from your former team for getting your dream job doesn't mean they were glad he's gone. They played harder than expected and the guys here will continue to do the same

That's typcial bull**** from Basilio.

Butch is very hard and demanding with the players during practice, that is true. But he is not out there dog cussing players and talking about their mothers or anything like that. When he says things like "Oops, you're not Eric, you're Evan. I wish you were Eric Berry", it's more like a funny barb he takes at the player. The majority of the players put their heads down and smile or snicker when this happens. It makes most of them work harder so that they don't get singled out on the megaphone.

Yes he cusses, just like 99% of the rest of the football coaches that are above middle school level. The stuff that's not being reported is that behind closed doors and away from the field, CBJ the ultimate player's coach. He is very upbeat and encouraging to those kids.

Go watch the video from the day he was hired and he met the players for the very first time. He said something along the lines of "I'm gonna coach you hard and I'm gonna get everything out of you that I can. But I'm gonna love you guys too." That's exactly what he does.

Don't be to hard on Basilio, he been under tremendous pressure lately. He's trying to decide between staying on his radio show and taking the Michigan coaching job for $7.5 million per year. He hates to leave his 20 million fans on his radio show but he also knows that all the Michigan football players want a coach like him that gives all the players a hug and pats them on the head when they play or practice poorly.
It's my bet that he keeps his radio job. :) :eek:lol:

Disgusting waste of money to arrest someone who's not causing a disturbance for underage drinking. Write a citation, be done with it. How in the world can government justify spending that much money/officer time that it takes to process a full fledged arrest for something like that?

Liked, because of Alison Brie :boobies:

Per John Brice, Daniel Helm will transfer to Duke. The team had a record semester GPA of 2.72.... That beat the 2005 mark.

"As for Jalen Hurd, a high-ranking source in the athletics department acknowledged to us that Hurd was cited and already has been punished internally, but this person
disputed that Hurd was "arrested" and emphasized that the freshman running back from Hendersonville Beech "was never
handcuffed or taken into custody." Again, UT officials confirm to us that Hurd "has been punished internally."

Aw hell yeah - we back boys and girls! And according to our own state law that source is correct. Auburn did the same thing with their QB since he was cited (only trouble there is that he was also detained on site -- prevented from the officer from leaving for several hours by the officer so their technicality is on shakier ground. Also most other states don't make the citation/arrest difference as clearly as we do.

Regardless, we back.

So Helm wasn't really homesick if he's going further away from home is he? Unless his wife/fiancee attends Duke?
