Sunday afternoon was the first bowl practice with the Vols knowing both their bowl destination and opponent. Tennessee practiced Saturday and Sunday last weekend, but had wrapped up practice Sunday afternoon before the TaxSlayer Bowl invite was announced.
Running backs Jalen Hurd, Marlin Lane and Devrin Young were all in green non-contact jerseys. With limited numbers at running back, freshman defensive back Evan Berry was again working with running backs coach Robert Gillespie during individual periods. Pig Howard, Jason Croom, Josh Malone and Vic Wharton, in that order, ran routes under the supervision of wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni. Drae Bowles was also at practice.
Three-star South-Doyle athlete Joc Bruce was in attendance, talking with Butch Jones and offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian on the field during stretching periods before the workout started.
Four-star Nashville defensive end Kyle Phillips, along with his mother, watched the defensive line work from the sidelines. Three-star offensive tackle Chance Hall and JUCO running back Alvin Kamara are also in town this weekend for their official visits along with quarterback Quinten Dormady
