Before TT we had one of the most successful runs Tennessee has ever had. since his arrival we have won a cotton bowl and.........

i mean i'm not saying he didnt' do a good job at what he was doing, i think he did for the positions he coached. but let's not confuse what actually happened with some reformation project the he alone was repsonsible for. he came on in 04 and we won a cotton bowl. we went 5-6 in 05, lost the outback bowl last year and lost the SEC title game this year. call me crazy, but i'd say we were wildly more successful before TT ever set foot on campus. and he's leaving us in basically the same shape as it was when he arrived.

anyway, my point is, this has gotten way over blown and doesn't deserve the fall out it's getting around here.

A position coach got a job at another school. it happens. and we could be better off for it.

Ok enough is enough, this is for you 50 + up fans who are out of touch wth today's football. Alot of you'll rag on TT for high fives and chest bumps with players. This is a main reason players respond well to TT because he is interactive. The days of standing on the hill and pointing your fingers and screaming to the top of your of lungs coaching football are over. The kids of today do not respond well to that. Listen elderly folks times change and you have to change with them. This is a main reason our program is where it is at now because of our inability to adapt to change. I for one was so excited to see Gerald Jones at qb running the spread, it brought excitement to the game and it was executed well too. It's time for some energy to come to the hill. TT will be missed dearly ! He was only a position coach here but a mighty fine one.

and it's not about unwillingness to accept or want change, in fact, the contrary.

Even though I am a TT fan, making the right hires will ultimately be better for the team. Some of you people need to get past the fact that he is gone and move on. Shoot I have defended TT on many occasions, but I also realize that TT caused our DC to be up in arms and having animosity on the staff is not a good thing. Wish TT well and move on, UT Football has to and will.

Kids are hard to relate too. I had about 1400 employees below the age of 24... Nothing to argue about when it comes to relating to Young men or children... It can be a difficult task if you allow it to be... Because you are 50 or older does not mean you cannot do it...TT did a great job at this no doubt about it, but he is not the only person out there in the Coaching world, as a position coach, head coach, coordinator or recruiter, that is capable of relating to these Kids... The University, the Coaching Staff, the administration, this board has done a crappy job of how they have dealt with the lost of Two Coaches on staff... We are all searching for answers as to why this has happened, what caused it, or who is to blame for it... It has been a house divided and fans want to know the above. Nothing is as simple as it seems anymore, Unfortunately... One thing for sure is that we need to quit looking to the NCAA College world with Orange Colored Glasses...

I think our defense truly showed us what they are going to be close to next season in the LSU game. Yes he has benn lack luster, but he has also been strained because of something with TT that has taken some focus off of what he needed to do.

I agree but a position coach shouldn't be the only coach who shows enthusiasm. I watch CPF closely and to sit back with arms folded and clap your hands occasionally is not good enough. I for one got pumped in college when our head coach showed emotion on the sideline, it just made me want to go out and explode even more. Energy, energy, energy, we need energy !

I think you are right... I am not a chavis fan by no means... But with the returning starters that we have and with less friction on the Staff then I would suspect that there would be above average improvement....

I have noticed that about Fulmer since the 5-6 season... It has been like who crapped in your wheaties type event... I have often said I do not believe his heart is in it anymore. (been bashed for that) I felt this year he was hanging on by a thread, or that is the way he felt...

Well athletically and talent wise, we're just as good as anybody in the nation. We have the talent to compete and young talent at that. Energy has to come from our head coach and trickle all the way down the chain of command all the way to the trainers.

You may be right. I just think it should be noted that some folks really appear to be dragging a good coach through the mud. The fact that they are trying to poke fun of the TT zealots doesn't change the appearances. So, I just note that for what it's worth, and I'll move on with my life. Most, I was just curious to hear what Hatvol had to say on this, because he really seems to hate the guy. It may be that he just hates TT's disciples, but I'd like to hear him say it.

We were more successful pre-TT. I'm not arguing that. But the temporal correlation does not mean that TT caused the decline. I'll continue to believe this until somebody points to some facts suggesting otherwise... facts other than TT's presence on campus during the decline, I mean.

For example, TT is not responsible for UT's crappy defensive performances against Florida and Alabama this year. Last year, he was not directly responsible for Arian Foster's fumble in the Outback bowl (although he had coached Foster a year prior, but still).

Ask and you shall receive. I have no problem voicing my disdain for Emperor Taylor. He's a preening, self promoting popinjay. He's a college football version of Todd Bozeman. I'm thrilled he's headed to Stoolwater. His taking a job there benefits my two favorite teams. Tennessee is rid of an embarrassing court jester and OU will get the benefits of OSU's probation when the 'AA posse finally nails the Co-Coordinator/Rodeo Clown/Gymnist. As for Troopers supporters, they're just proof that PT Barnum's base theory was accurate.

It does get pretty old when people suggest Trooper should be promoted for his track record developing players, but those same guys want our defensive line coaches fired. Additionally, the majority of those guys can't name another coach on the staff.

If West Virginia fans can keep taking shots at a departing coach who made them relevant, I think I'll take joy in ripping a buffoon who was nothing but a blip in the history of Tennessee football a little while longer.
