the landing---way overrated---some mediocre restaurants and shops, with overpriced beer and liquor. Stay at the beach---great clubs and restaurants---lots more to do.

The area around the stadium will be heavily patrolled by the cops. I was there for a US soccer game back in June and downtown was swarming with police. But the bright side is they kept the riff raff away.

Also, its a MUST to have a drink at Lynch's Irish Pub and if you go a day or two early or stay a day or two late, I would suggest Sneaker's as far as watching other games.

My buddy set a table on fire there(Lynchs). Good times.

But they dont really care about road beers (that extra beer on the way to the stadium) Just stay in your lane and dont stick out via shenanegins and youll be alright

There's another great bar at the beach thats next to the Seaturtle Hotel??? Over close to where sticky fingers used to be at the corner of atlantic and 3rd street.....Ragtime maybe?? Freebird and Monkey's Uncle are pretty good bars as well.

Jax has been on Cops more than any other city lol. Jax beach is fine, it's when you get into western Jacksonville where you start to see some rough crap.

I will add one great place to eat.... If it's still there, buckets on Jax Beach. Some of the best seafood in Jacksonville IMO.

This. You do not want to wander and get lost in areas such as moncrief and Murray hill.

I think it is Ragtime. Thats the Atlantic Beach area for anyone wondering.

I am thrilled the Vols are playing in the Gator Bowl, but I was stationed in Jax the city is one of the worse places in the South, a simple Google Search will show you that:

The beaches did have some nice bars, landing was ok, Ponte Vedra is a bit of a drive but a nice place to stay

Overblown nonsense. I've lived here since 2006 and I've had zero complaints.

Worst places in the south? Have you been to south Florida, Gainesville or Tallahassee? That's just several worse areas in the state of Florida alone. Downtown smells like coffee because of the Maxwell plant. Other than that, it smells like any city I've been too.
