I would've been perfectly fine with using the BCS rankings to determine the top 4 or whatever.

I know everyone hates FSU but I think it's ludicrous that they're on the fence at #4 while being the only power 5 team that's undefeated.

Within 5 years, I would bet this thing will be expanded to 12-16 teams and the regular season will become even more watered down. Then we'll be seeing arguments over the final 3 or 4 spots with a ton of 9-3 teams *****ing about being left out.

I agree using the BCS top 4 would have been fine. I also agree we don't need 12-16 in a playoff. However, you didn't directly say it but do you think the 4 team playoff watered down the regular season? Yes, a 12-16 team playoff would, but I think the 4 team playoff has made the regular season even better. Just look, all 3 games on right now have major implications. If it were last year, the only one that would matter would be the FSU game.

I have always thought 8 or 16 was fine. If you want the regular season to mean more, then 8. But for me, it was always ludicrous that we were basically out after losing to UF in September. Not all good teams are perfect. I know it's not the NFL, but they know how to create interest. You may think their regular season is watered down, but it really isn't. There is a fine line in making the playoffs, and wild card teams have shown many times to be the best team at the end if the year. JMO.

Not sure what's true, but if these guys can't handle hard coaching and high expectations than it's probably good they are leaving. Looks like there's a tough culture being built that rubs some guys the wrong way.

Jason Carr leaving last May was surprising but maybe there is a trend.

I agree with this. One loss shouldn't ruin your national title hopes. It is really difficult to run the table in this day and age no matter the conference. That is why it is crazy FSU is 4th.

Question can early enrollees practice with the team for bowl prep but cannot travel or participate in any games???

Florida must have had another decommitment. 7 3*'s is all they have listed. Currently 95th in recruiting.

I think Checkerboard Radio is ran by Darago and maybe another TSR refugee (or just a buddy of his).

If Volquest is Costco...those guys are Hammers.

Might be a shred of truth, but it REEKS of cheap clickbait.

All I know if our team fights tooth and nail for the win until the final whistle. If there are some casualties along the way to develop really good mental toughness then so be it. CBJ has said before that they look for a certain type of player to recruit into their program. Some guys just may not be cut out for it.

This makes me so happy. We need to capitalize in the swamp next year. In the 2015 season, is it possible to say we are more talented than UF?

It will get better once the new coach reaches out to all the recruits not much better but it will move back up to the top 30 or so

I agree. Stinks because they are talented and we still need depth, but for the sake of the team this probably a net positive.

I just hope TCU or Baylor get in. I can pull for Oregon. I hate Bama, FSU, and OSU. If OSU and FSU played in the championship I honestly would pull for a sinkhole or asteroid at the stadium before one of them to win.

If OSU gets in, it seems like it would be based on money/power/influence....

How can you jump them past TCU? If anybody should jump them it should be Baylor (and they should) but they don't have the influential pull the buckeyes do.

I hate FSU much worse. I'm cheering for Oregon, TCU, Bama, Hitler, FSU, in that order.

I think it should go to 8 teams and that be it no matter what... And the teams should be decided like this

5 = each of the power conference champs should get in (keeps the conf champ games meaningful)

Then, bring back the BCS and use it to decide the other three --

1 = the top ranked non-power conference team regardless of rank

2 = the next two highest ranked at-large teams regardless of conference.

They should be seeded based on however they fall in the BCS. Then you could either play it out like a standard quarterfinal setup (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, etc...) or give the 1-4 seeds a bye in the first round and only 5-8 play and then pick it up like a semifinal setup.

Loving this! 8.5 weeks until national signing day, and they are barely in the top 100. It will take a miracle to get them into the top 25. They are more likely to finish in the 40-45 range at this point.

I will never understand why they scrapped the rankings part of the BCS. Just take the top 4 from the BCS rankings and there's your playoff, or do what you mentioned with the 8 teams. The BCS was way better than 13 hacks who may have never even played the game.

You couldn't give the first 4 seeds a bye in the first round in an 8 team playoff. It wouldn't work.
