UGA can be very good when they focus. They would have been up for this game and made it close IMO. We will never know. But this thrashing of Mizzou was imminently predictable.

There only really good "focused" games were Auburn, Missouri, and Arkansas. And the last two involved those offenses turning over the ball so much in the first half that they didn't have to do much after (and in Arkansas's case, they got it back to 2 scores with about 6-7 minutes left).

The rest of them UGA's defense made most of their opponents look like polished offensive machines.

That plus, again, a we can only run team (especially because we know we can't pass the ball) doesn't match up with a team that can take completely take away the run. UF showed us what happened if you actually take away UGA's running game; it gets ugly.

The closest they would have made it would have been that they would have actually scored a TD the first half...and Bama would have scored another 7-10 more points than they did that half.

The reality was that whoever came into Atlanta tonight out of any of the East teams, Bama was going to have stomped in their teeth before they left.

I really think the East next year will be between Tennessee and UGA. UGA finally picks up Bama next year. So their west teams are Bama and Auburn while we have Bama and Arkansas.

Gary Danielson is right, Alabama would not have been able to win without Lane this year. They've been such a program of disarray before now! Good to see the underdog win every once in a while.

Would be cool to be considered a "loser" in conference championship games.
