I know it's a stretch but his resume is better than Butch's when we hired him.

67-27 as HC. 4 time conference division winner (out of 7 years)

Are we talking about the guy that Nebraska just fired? Bo is a goofball. Reminds me of muschamp.

Cowherd just said that Michigan had hired someone that would be announced this weekend. Said Michigan fans would be happy with the hire. Wouldn't go into any details, but it sounded like it was someone coaching in the games this weekend.

Pinkel is who he is referring to. Hope it's true but I would take that with a grain of salt.

He does kinda act like Muschamp minus one thing....

He wins games. I bet if you were to poll Nebraska fan today the majority would rather have him than who they hired.

Again, I said it was a stretch and probably shouldn't even be brought up at this point. But if this stretches out, we could be looking for a coach with no buyout given our recent financial history.

Memphis could be an ugly game. Their defense is solid, and they have 8 senior starters. Good players on the line, at LB, and in secondary. That game could be a 13-7 type game.

I don't know any bowl eligible team that wouldn't be a struggle for us. Memphis and NC state are the only two I'd put money on as UT wins though.

The Liberty Bowl opponent would likely be a rougher one than I think we're ready for.

That's where we could push things. Liberty wants us bad. Well, we get to put our preference in too which the SEC front office takes into account and if Liberty wants us bad enough then they can invite an opponent better for us than Tejas or WVU. We don't match up well with either of those teams - their strength versus our weakness. Find someone whose DL is as bad as our OL.

Agree big time. No doubt majority want Bo over Riley. They (Nebraska fans) must be devastated with the less than stellar hire. IMO

None of those teams are bowl eligible but I agree with your point lol

I mentioned him a few times when UT was looking to replace Dooley. IMO he would be a fine coach in the SEC. Now that he is unemployed, he would be a great value hire IMO. An AD gives him the money to hire a rock star staff and you're off and running. I said it before that UT recruits itself. Any coach puts in the work and the recruits will come. Tennessee has a lot to sell and it's the things recruits like(facilities and such).

Worst case scenario CBJ actually has interest in Michigan and it's either over pay him or let him walk, I'd be looking at new coaches. UT's job is a lot more attractive today, and definitely more than Michigan right now.

Dooley was a jerk and well we saw what happened with that attitude. I am only saying attitude is the similarity between the two.

Maybe. But there are no other coaching options out there. So he has plenty of leverage. He's gonna get paid big time imo

If Michigan has hired their guy as Cowherd has suggested, his leverage isn't as strong as once thought.

Dooley was a jerk I agree. He also would not put in the work. Bo Pelini IMO has shown he is willing to put in the work. The man has never won fewer than 9 games in a season over 7 years. Do I think with a good budget for a staff he could have an SEC contending for a title? I do. Nebraska has also recruited well and Lincoln is not the easiest place to sell a recruit on I'd bet.

IMO hart can't just pay whatever it takes to keep a guy trying to leverage for money IF Michigan actually wants him. I'd draw a line in the dirt and say this is where we are. I want you here, but 5-7 and 6-6 just does not justify a big bump in pay. 8-9 wins in 2015 and we will be glad to talk about it. JMO

I asked a couple of people(husker fans) up here. They didn't like him.
Haven't asked about the new coach yet.

Fair enough

IMO, if Butch is trying to use UM to leverage for more money then I (as the AD) let him do it once. After that though, you let him walk unless you have seen significant improvement that warrants keeping him. This gives you another year of stability in the program and more talented players on the roster. Again, JMO

This is the answer ^^^
