Bottom line: I believe today what I believed weeks ago — Butch Jones will be back at Tennessee. But no one should be naive. It’s 2014.

What a load of BS. You could literally say that about all of the coaches in the NCAA in every sport. Money talks, it's not rocket science.

Anyone who says they would not pay him the $4M would be wishing we had if he were to leave. Ultimately, none of know his leverage or what Hart and Butch's agent have discussed.

The economics of giving Butch a raise makes a lot of sense. He's improving the program, and the university is making almost 10x his salary.

Well, that's good that we won't have to get Dobbs involved!

After thinking we would get through this time of year with little to no drama or upheaval.....

Then realizing - oh wait. We're Tennessee... Of course crazy stuff will ensue.....

OJ Simpson was innocent, it's 2014.

Elvis isn't really dead, it's 2014.

Aliens do exist, it's 2014.

Kim Kardashian and Kate Upton are constantly fighting over me, it's 2014.

Michigan will not hire a spread offense guy, which Butch is. They fired Rich Rod and Butch worked for him learning offense if I remember correctly.

The quote in the article was from when Rich Rod was coaching a MI and Butch said that he would coach there...not that MI was his dream job. Butch is on the road recruiting, so I personally hope he isn't reviewing the extension just yet. Besides isn't that what his agent and law team is for?

Rucker is making generalizations and waffling with them. There is nothing other than rumors from "a guy who should know" to fuel the latest VN paranoia.

A countless amount of people get paid more than deserved all across this nation. What is one more? If it keeps the positive momentum with recruiting and stability pay the guy. So season tickets go up a few bucks a game. Many on here are making me think they are literally paying his salary! Mercy. Lol!

At what point does Tennessee say "your results aren't a representation of that number"?

At the point where Hart thinks that he has another guy that can come in and keep the trajectory of the program going in the same direction, and I don't think there is one right now for the same amount of money.

Boom. I'd love to see this.

"We've made it very clear that Tennessee is the team we want," Harold Graeter, the Liberty Bowl's associate executive director, said Thursday. "We've been following Tennessee since Signing Day. ... We visited with (Tennessee coach Butch Jones) and (athletic director) Dave Hart throughout the spring, summer and fall. We went to five UT games. We've been very visible and very out front about the team we'd like to have. There's no secret about the team that we want."

Seriously look at where we have been. We have to protect ourselves this time. He should have a huge buyout if he leaves. If he gets 4 million his buyout should be 8.

Want in one hand and sh!t in the other and see which one fills up first, Liberty Bowl.

We going to da Belk!

Plaeeeaassse let the Belk bowl happen. Charlotte and its stadium would be a much better venue than Memphis.

Also, after the game I'll totally be at dandelion market popping bottles with JClawvol. Love that place!

Looks like it will be West Virginia and Tennessee match up.
