This insane, panicked reaction is exactly why Rucker tweeted that. Butch isn't going anywhere, but Rucker sure gets a lot of clicks if he acts like it's a legit possibility.

I agree. This is comical. And a complete over reaction. Not worried about this at all. Butch is not going anywhere. Now if he can't coach up the talent he's recruiting in here the next few years then that's another story. But for now, nothing to worry about at all.... And yes, Rucker is a D bag.

Think you're off base. Unless Michigan gets close to the 5 number, he's not going. Has he ever been quoted as saying he likes Michigan? I'm from Georgia, I despise Georgia.

Guy quoted him (second hand) on that 247 article.

No. Just what I've been told. But I trust the source. Again, not saying he is leaving though

Here's my worthless opinion:

I'm on the Butch train, but if asking to be bumped up to $4M, then that is a little high IMO. A $500K raise is sufficient under the circumstances but next year if he wins at least 8 games then he should be bumped to $4M because we have to keep him. Stability is super important for this program and the last thing we need is another coaching search. All that being said, Hart needs to do what he needs to do to make sure he stays and if it's $4M, then so be it.

Rucker stirs the pot with a lot of vague "I'm in the know" type of non-statements, and then he pretends he called things after they happen despite never saying anything of any substance and hedging in every way possible. He's clickbating. If Rucker is making some type of call, either it is after the fact or he is vaguely making the same statement a more reputable source already made before him.

Nothing has ever happened that Rucker didn't "call" months earlier.

Bottom line: I believe today what I believed weeks ago — Butch Jones will be back at Tennessee. But no one should be naive. It’s 2014.

Ya that's what I mean. You can be a fan of your home without being a fan of the football team, and it's all 2nd and 3rd hand bits to even get to an assumption he even has a desire to be back in the state. I'd be shocked if he doesn't play it up to get leverage with Hart, but this notion that he'll bail if he doesn't get Freeze money is pure guesswork, IMO.

He's leveraging I'm sure, but I seriously doubt he's "going to UM if he doesn't get high freeze money" like she are saying.

Because I'd assume if he did leave (I don't think he will) it would be because Michigan made him an offer and we refused to give Butch a raise to entice him to stay.

There is a point where it is not a smart business move.

Michigan could become desperate and throw 5 at him. Got to let him go for that IMO.

Consdering Mcelwain(new hire), Bielema, and Stoops all are making 3.5 after new deals now, I don't think 4 is that far off.

Yes if the number was that ridiculous I'd have to agree. Anything over ~3.75 million is overpaying CBJ at this juncture. Simply don't know if his coaching is as good as his recruiting yet

Butch to Michigan..

Kiffin back to Tennessee.

Can I get an amen!?

Dude, chill bruh. People like you are why people with info get run off the board

Lol, everyone here knows I recognize legit insiders. Just don't think he is one of them. Ya'll remember how many "insiders" came around last time there were coaching rumors? Haven't seen gfw make one sound about Butch going to Michigan :hi:

Just like I said, Rucker is an A$$. What he's saying above is that Butch is not going anywhere BUT if he did happen to leave he's covered himself with the "It's 2014" crap.

I honestly wouldn't care as long as we keep Butch but just under the circumstances, that $500K would be sufficient considering 6-6 record. IMO, a good reason to bump him up to $4M would be his recruiting.

I do. I equate 4 million with a division contender year in/out. Make his contract incentive laced.

You can have 500k raise if you win the East

1 million for the SEC title

2 million for the National Championship

Bob Wickman is not BS'ing here. Butch has leverage and he's using it.

I honestly don't know if he would or wouldn't go if offered by Michigan. I just really, really hope that Miles, Harbaugh, Bert or somebody will accept it before it gets to Butch and we don't have to find out.

I don't disagree, but once again, he has the leverage here.
