I think we've said this every year since 2010, but next year really IS our best chance to beat UF in years.

IMO, we will actually have a talent advantage for the first time in....ever, maybe. Getting them early in the season is actually a good thing as well. Hopefully there are some growing pains with McElwain's system.

I hate FL. We will beat them. I am so tired of my friends that are FL fans. I don't even just want to beat them. I want to beat them so bad they have to level their stadium and build another one in an attempt to erase the memory of the beatdown. :realmad:

Same here. I would love to have a decade run on them to turn the tables. They're never scared of us. We always are no matter what. Even when we had great teams back in the day. If Butch can turn that around, I don't know what I'd do...

The big question is, why do you have friends that are florida fans? poor taste, imo.

There is a video on SDS where they walked around UF tailgates at the FSU game and told people that UF had hired Derek Dooley to replace Muschamp.

One of the guy's responses was that UF would never hire anyone who coached at Tennessee because Tennessee was a "garbage program."

That's pretty much where we exist in their minds. Basically how we used to view Kentucky when it seemed utterly impossible that they would ever beat us.

Should have respond with "Doug Dickey says Hi"

We can but should have this year.

That sucks! But it's the truth. They've owned us for so long even at their worst. It has to end! And not just one fluke win like when KY beat us. Have to and need to win consistently against them.

But FL can't be down too long at all with a new coach because of all the fertile recruiting in the state.

Grrrr, that's the team I want to beat the most right now..

CSU AD to Jeremy Foley when Foley asked him if he had some gloves....

Charlotte sounds awesome. I've never actually been there, so it would be a fun trip to take with the folks.

I took my wife to a concert there for her 30th birthday. We stayed in Uptown Charlotte, it was clean and a great place to spend a couple of nights. Bars and restaurants were within walking distance I would recommend it.

Mcelwain doesn't strike fear into my heart as say a Rich Rod would at UF.

I wonder how recruits will respond to him.

Prayers out to those needing it. Our world is a broken world, but God made us relational beings and that is one way we are able to make it through this world. By banding together and praying with each other. God bless you all and those going through tough times. Just remember, this is not the end. Only the beginning. Stay positive my bros.

Great post. Amen.

Off topic, but I challenge everybody that believes in Christ to purchase and read the book, Heaven, by Randy Alcorn. Amazing. You will not regret it. A very slow read due to all it contains. I am starting my second reading of it.

On football - I would love for us to play Duke in Charlotte. Good match-up against a well coached team that we should win in the second half.

Doesn't have to be...at Florida.

Typically, I would agree but the environment in Florida is not the same as it was 3 or 4 years ago. FSU has a stranglehold on the top talent in state and I'm not sure if McElwain is going to be able to swing the momentum back.

Was looking at reading that book. Currently just finished Forgotten God and now reading Disciple (both by Francis Chan). I very highly recommend either of those two books. Astounding.

On to football. I would be okay wih a .25 mil increase in Butch's salary. All the assistants should get a slight raise as well (except for a few which will not be named). Maybe 10% increase for the assistants? I think anything 500,000 or up for Butch is too much. Just my opinion, though.
