Ps4

I was shocked to see them cut on TVs. I remember when HD first came out and Sony had the tops for a while. They have always been pricey though.

Ditto. All my TV's are Sony, you'd think their market share and brand recognition would keep them active in that department.

They simply cannot compete price wise. Go to any Wal Mart or Target and you'll see tons of Vizio and Samsung budget TV's, which unfortunately are what makes up the vast majority of the market. You won't find a single Sony TV anywhere. After their restructuring, Sony decided focus only on the ultra expensive, ultra elite demographic which unfortunately just isn't large enough to sustain that business model, especially right now when the economy is still on shaky ground at best. While Samsung, Vizio, Panasonic, and LG make high end TV's too, it's their lower end budget sets that sell the most. Sony never bothered to try to tap into that market.

Pioneer makes it work just fine. But I don't think you meant quite that high-end.

Actually, I haven't bought a TV in a while, so I don't know if they even make them anymore.

Turns out... they don't! RIP Pioneer displays.

You bastards got me researching HDTV's. Now I've got to talk myself out of buying one!

I have a Sony that is a few years older than my Samsung, but the Samsung 860 blows it out of the water. I'm almost ready to replace it, though!

That good news for PS4 owners!

No margins in TV's anymore; anyway. Sony does best with the newest tech.

So do these lizard squad folks have a gripe with sony/ms, real or imagined; or are they just doing it because they can?

Anyone dumping the ps4 due to the Sony backlash or fear of a Sony collapse

I doubt there will be a "collapse" at Sony. Remember this is still a company worth billions in assets. No company worth that much is just going to up and fold. What they WILL do is continue to restructure and cut the departments that are losing them money, which are primarily their TV and smart phone divisions. People tend to forget that Sony has many many divisions outside of just consumer level electronics and entertainment that make them money. They have financial divisions that are profitable, they make commercial grade sound and video equipment for film, they make high tech medical equipment, they have their music studios, their film studios, and yes they have a home console division that happens to be on fire right now.
