LOL. At the posters claiming the story about Butch rejecting the Michigan job being 'fake'. Callahan from 247 ran with it earlier in the day. I doubt he wouldn't have cited the article unless he had a pretty good source. Everyone but the fans seem to realize we have a good coach.

Look at the bigger picture - Only one more win than last year, but went from 60th to 30th in the sagarin rating. And assuming this class doesn't fall apart, CBJ will have the best back-to-back recruiting classes since at least 2002/2003. (could be longer, the rivals site doesn't list rankings before 2002).

Let's be honest, the only upswing in winning games this season was due to James Franklin taking another job.

Going from 60th to 30th in the sagarin rankings is not a sign of improvement? The best back-to-back recruiting classes in at least 12 years is not a good omen?

I like Butch, but he hasn't earned a raise yet. Let's see what next year brings before giving him a raise. If he wants to be here as badly as he's said in the past, that's fair. If he decides to bolt, then we've always just been a stepping stone, and not that destination job he proclaimed. Better to learn that now.

I'm open to adjusting the salaries of assistants, within limits. Stay competitive with their salary, but don't pay for a sports coupe when you're buying economy.

And I don't buy Michigan contacting him. Michigan is too big a job for Butch to be one of the first approached. I don't care what condition their program is currently in, others get offered first, and those rumors would be heard.

Yeah but option #2 we start over with another coach and... that could really kill us. At the very least Butch woulld give us a stable program with a load of talent that has already been developed nicely.
