I'm all for wrapping up the staff that Butch wants but please add some buyout clauses for guys like Thig to go with it.

i did say worst case scenario. i like your best case scenario better. braxton miller is a beast but will probably want a school with at least an average offensive line.

for the record, i want him to come to tn but i at the very least dont want him to go to florida or someone we play regularly.

but yes. this is much worse. especially if dobbs has to run 100 yards a game i'm worried about his health. and peterman would get the starting job i guess if dobbs weren't healthy.....the staff would probably rather do that than burn a redshirt.

i would think peterman would transfer if braxton miller transferred though.

Braxton Miller isn't coming here. Too many other obvious openings available instead of battling with Dobbs. Bama, FSU, Oregon, Ole Miss all can promise starting position with no competition.

You are forgetting that next year we will have Hurd, Kamara, Scott, Reid and possibly some other RB's. Our RB depth and skills will help keep Dobbs from having to run 20-40 times per game. Plus we should have all of our WR's healthy and with another year of experience.

With Dobbs at QB here are game stats. TOTAL is plays run, TRIPOPT is where Pig, Von or JJ come in motion with threat of handoff or actual receiving the ball.

Bama - TOTAL 383 yards on 79 plays = 4.84 yds/play
TRIPOPT 63 yards on 15 plays = 4.20 yds/play
TOTAL- TOPT 320 yards on 64 plays = 5 yds/play

SC - TOTAL 645 yards on 95 plays = 6.79 yds/play
TRIPOPT 208 yards on 25 plays = 8.32 yds/play
TOTAL- TOPT 437 yards on 70 plays = 6.24 yds/play

UK - TOTAL 511 yards on 80 plays = 6.39 yds/play
TRIPOPT 78 yards on 11 plays = 7.10 yds/play
TOTAL- TOPT 433 yards on 69 plays = 6.27 yds/play

MIZZ - TOTAL 279 yards on 67 plays = 4.16 yds/play
TRIPOPT 85 yards on 12 plays = 7.08 yds/play

Triple option was also a pretty small percentage of our plays called, so that probably helps it stay fresh and somewhat surprising. It would be right down there with yards per play if it was half of our plays called.

Those stats are also interesting because they seem to indicate that the triple option didn't help as much against Bama. Our average per play was better without it. When I watched the game live, I thought the triple option was really gashing them. The stats seem to tell the opposite tale. Interesting.
