Taylor the OC a no-brainer

Again, no one has answered my question? Who could Fulmer get to humble themselves to his system that will cause the best recruits in the land to come to TN? Cutcliff was the only one out there and that was only because of the success of Peyton. Now he is gone. Now I don't have a reason for big name recruits to come to TN and play in my system, so who do i get if I am not willing to change.

Apparently you'd be amazed how many kids love playing on national TV and in front of 107K at home.

You couldn't be more wrong. Just give up. You make no sense.

Too many assumptions, a basic lack of facts and you must have ADD.... Go back and read your own board posts.... Then go and read the history of this program before Taylor... Look at the Stars and who recruited them prior to Taylor...You are trying to defend something that has no basis... Taylor is a good recruitter.... Cut in his prime was innovative... I am glad both are gone....Take Roper and Luke with them... Wish we could add Chavis to the mix... There are a 100 more T Taylor's out there that can recruit and Coach... You think he is the glue...but... again he may have caused more problems than you are willing to give him credit for....It is the Man Crush thing I am sure now... He does not have as big of numbers as you think he does....The talent at UT would make anybody look good... Sometime things happen in spite of bad Coaching....

Just as i thought, no one will answer the question because they know the answer would not be popular and they would look just as foolish as I am or as foolish as I appear to be.

It is not our fault that you have not read any other threads. Many qualified names have been offered. GO AWAY!

Whats the use in throwing up a list of more qualified OCs.
When all you are going to do is deny.. Why give you a list that you have no control over and I do not either.... it is easier to say who is not ready for OC versus trying to read the mind of MH, CPF, and the donors.... Read the history of this program... We will be fine and recruiting will not take a drop one iota.... We are not in a heavy need area for skilled players this year.... It is a win win... Fulmer makes the wrong choice and we will be getting a HC a lot sooner than expected....ESPN just mentioned Gus Malazon from Tulsa...

Kippy's a fine coach...(yawn). I just hope he doesn't come to TN to become semi-retired. This hire could determine if Fulmer is coaching this time next year and he better be prepared to work harder than he has ever worked in his life to keep Fulmer in his seat.

I have it from excellent authority CPF is prepared to "work like heck and stay the course" to make 2008 a better year for Tennessee football.

this thread has run its course.... you need to revive it ever once in a while to remind yourself of how hard headed and wrong you were and will be.... Points of interest should be Recruiting but not this year because of Needs and Review Coach's Records as the result of the moves...The Offense at Baylor if TT departs (may know today) and the difference at the level of play.... I am thinking TT will not leave and he will not get the OC position either...

OBTW your avator is a true Reflection of your Thought Process and I should have known better than to get into this conversation with someone who uses a picture of an complete Idiot....

Our offense is light years beyond the split backs and pure I formation days under Majors. In fact, if you go back and look, the offense really got multiple when CPF became the OC at the end of the Majors era. I can't even remember seeing us in the shotgun until CPF started calling the plays.

I am not going to call CPF an "offensive wizard" or innovator, but your comments regarding UT's offense under Majors is what I remember...and I remember the 77 thru 82 seasons as being very lean years. It was not easy being a VOL fan and I wondered if it took a Tony Dorsett for Coach Majors to win big. I also remember shooting off my mouth when Majors came that the SEC people, especially bama, better watch out as we now had a "real big time" coach. There were other disappointing seasons under Coach Majors too, along with his three SEC championships. God Bless the Sugar Vols of 85...they redeemed my faith!:victory:

Mine to but the credit should be given to Lacewell or Donohue for taking a bunch of no names and turning the page on the defense...We had T Robinson then and D. Dickey is probably the best 2nd stringer we have ever had at UT....

Hey! How about Daryl Dickey for OC?

Dickey would have been the fifth string quarterback on the '94 team, most other years he would have been, at best, the third teamer.

sadly, I think TT would be a lousy choice for OC.

He's great - I'd like to keep him.... but he's not ready for prime time OC..... which is why he's thinking of going to Baylor (a program dead from the neck up)

If our old OC had been even a decent recruiter (he wasn't) then the loss of TT wouldn't be so regretful.

BUT, here's a chance to get a hot, young OC that can ALSO recruit. And could be Head Coach when Fulmer retires (after his next losing season).

While I'd like to get Kippy back in Ktown - Fulmer might be tempted to force him into the sluggish mold of "the Ghost of Offenses Past".... that we ran this year. (and bear in mind that we had an experienced senior QB to run it)

I think we should accept this as an opportunity to upgrade the staff AND the offense.

Right time Right Place Right Position... Hog and acorn analogy.... Then not now... Finished the work that was started by T Robinson... Alot of Second stringers could not have done that....did manage to tie GT in his first start.... but finished the season undefeated....first pass thrown was an interception but set the record of 105 passes without another and set a SEC record...broken by P Manning and later by whomever...

when you are looking for an OC this is easy to do... LOL

I for one thought he was an answer early on but realized he went to KY and FSU and there is no way he is the one for OC....

We could really mess with people's heads and hire Darrell Dickey.

We would be messing with our own heads more than others..... I can see this board right now and hear it in the Stands..... Fulmer would not have to tell us when he was retireing it would be locked in stone.... It would be a brain buster for sure.... but it would bust UT Brains....
