Ferguson Riots

The Governor just said that Guardsmen will be deployed to secure firehouses, police stations, and substations and to provide logistical support to law enforcement.

There should be no police force there tonight. People want to burn their own town down, let them.

There was a famous police commissioner in DC during the 1970s (I'm not remembering his name) and he won the trust of the black population (which was a very big deal at the time). One thing he did was during protests he kept police nearby, but out of sight. I think they should have been doing that all along in Ferguson. I think the confrontations we've seen with cops standing like an army ready to battle only serve to agitate.

The Mayor of St. Louis just said that they will allow protesters to occupy public spaces and to obstruct roadways. He also went on to say that the public may be inconvenienced but you pretty much have to deal with it.

I think a 8am verdict announcement makes much more sense than 9pm if you are trying to avoid riots.

You have daylight and people still sleeping, on your side.

This.

It is not even a race thing, it is a I see heavily armed people in opposition to me thing.

I think that's a very smart move.

It would be different if they had something to actually be pissed about. This is idle hands doing what everybody expects.

I don't. Just because you're protesting doesn't give you a right to infringe upon my rights to travel freely.

I agree, but I'm not concerned with what's right, I'm concerned with getting the best possible result out of this hairy situation.

You're a horrible person. You might pay your taxes and "contribute" to society but I'm glad most people aren't like you. Sorry. You can say you're joking. I'm sure you will, but you're still completely unfeeling toward people that you see as beneath you.

I think you're taking it a bit too serious huff. None of this really has to go down, it's ridiculous and won't help anything.

I have zero sympathy for these people and its sad that they're coddled to the way they are. The civil rights move is over. Take responsibility for who you are and stop looking for someone else to blame.

One way or another this ends tonight.

The governor urged the protesters to be on their best behavior, better hope the police and national guard are on their best behavior as well. Let's hope officer "go ***** yourself" or his ilk isn't there tonight. This thing is a powder keg.

No one should really be taking what nancy and franklin have to say seriously, they've both proved to be racist dbags on here. I don't know if they talk like that in real life or only on here because they think they can get away with it, but there's no point in entertaining their stupidity.

Hoping nothing real bad happens. I imagine it will be less dramatic that some on here suspect. I think Wilson walks, but I don't agree with the judge not giving the evidence for the decision.

The best possible result would be a tornado touching down as soon as these idiots start doing their thing.
