I dont think they are so delusional and neither does Cowherd. Coaching kids has to be a heck of a lot more fun than coaching players that will tell you to GTH in a minute.

ESPN's Cowherd: Philly's Kelly Would Listen If Florida Calls

ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd, however, believes he would be receptive to the right opportunity. And the right opportunity might just be Florida. "Let me just say, Chip will take the phone call if Florida makes it to him," Cowherd said on his radio show Thursday morning.

Heard Braden Gall of Athlon Sports say that Kelly absolutely despises recruiting, hates it with a passion, was one of the major reasons he wanted to go to the NFL. Tifwiw.

Then why do you hang out in a college recruiting forum? No you cant cut players as an NFL coach without the GM's and in many cases the owners approval. In CFB you have total control. That is simply not the case in the NFL and why a lot of NFL coaches are unhappy. Its also why NFL players can tell a coach to eff off. Finally lets not forget the players union as well. Another major pain in the azz

How does me being a fan of college football have anything to do with what I would choose if I were a coach? That makes zero sense.

Good points but how many successful NFL coaches leave for college? How many successful college coaches leave for the NFL? The answers are telling

Being a successful NFL coach gets you notoriety.

Being a successful college coach (especially in an SEC town) makes you legendary. You get streets named after you, statues built of you, kids named after you, the list goes on..

If I had the choice to have potential huge success in the SEC or marginal success in the NFL, it's not even a question for me.

If the argument being made is that Kelly likes to coach college football why not just stay in Oregon where he had it made? He's not going to jump to the NFL for a couple years just to take a step back into college in my opinion, and Eagles fans seem fairly confident that he won't even entertain the Gators.

I take it there is nothing new concerning Richmond's recruitment...since this thread turned into the Chip Kelly show about taking a so called phone call from Fla....

I think Tennessee, Michigan, USC, and Texas have proven over the last few years, that programs cannot simply go out, get their #1 option at any cost.

And let's not forget that Nick Saban was not Alabama's first choice in Dec '06...Mal Moore's first offer was to Rich Rodriguez then of West Virginia. They got lucky.

Any coach that runs the spread attack is dangerous with right qb...look at ut now with Dobbs....look at Meyer with tebow.....a good dual threat qb makes these guys offense go. Without it, they r just average. Florida no longer bothers me BC ut has Butch!!!

I agree we are in as good of hands as we have been in a long time. Our issue is we face Bama every year. I'd rather not compound that with a Chip Kelly lead UF yearly. You can make a title run with one loss not two.

That is not to say I don't have confidence in Butch beating either team with the right players like Dobbs but even Saban is known to lose one every year and the more good teams you play the more likely it can happen.

He didn't just voluntarily leave Oregon for the NFL. He got hit with a show cause penalty (a la Bruce) and was essentially forced out

Urban Meyer stepping down for medical reasons, he is having some cramps now. Then he'll return to Florida

True. I think the NFL is the ultimate proving ground for both players and coaches.

Strongly disagree. How many successful CFB coaches have failed in the NFL and how many successful NFL coaches have failed in CFB? Spurrier, Saban and Weiss are immediate thoughts. The ability and skill to interact with players on two different levels is key. The same as thinking a good Engineer would be a good Manager or the opposite.

Weiss was a NFL offensive coordinator...

Yeah, obviously. The point remains the same. Even an OC with a Super Bowl ring should be expected to break .500 at the CFB level until those that are educated understand CFB kids and NFL primma donnas are totally different to coach, regardless of the coaches skill set in terms of Xs and Os

Half the people that hate Memphis have never been there or lived and breathed Memphis. One of the better cities I've ever seen and I've seen quite a bit in the US.

I think alot of people rate the cities by their school systems. Obviously that's a fail toward Memphis. At one time, there were two school systems, county and city. Until it got so bad with mismanagement, the city school officials just threw there hands in the air and said yall take it over. I haven't kept up with the situation lately. I just know that Tennessee would probably jump over about 15 states in school rankings if Memphis stats were left out.
