I'm gen X and it wasn't like this when I was a teen in the early nineties. At the same time, we had the AIDS scare which was a death sentence in those days.

Just stupid to be in that position to begin with.

this is a cheap and dumb way to approach this situation. let it play out before you go downing those guys and their characters. unless you were there and have some definite info, stop! for you to say something like this tells me u never played college ball because situations like this are regular.

Last year of the boomers. Grew up in 60's and 70's and college in the 80's. Kindergarten age during Woodstock... Only free love for me then was from my my parents and siblings... :hi:

Just trying to point out that millenials aren't the sexual deviants some make us out to be.

As far as sexual license goes, Georgian England was by far the wildest. The Victorian prudishness was pretty much in direct reaction to how far the excesses went before.

He is 90% wrong, but at the same time it's also something of a question of prudence and wisdom on the part of the young lady.

Hypothetically:

No, getting very drunk and going home with a guy does not mean that a girl deserves to be raped. No one EVER deserves that.

However it is about as stupid as waving a fist full of hundred dollar bills around in Orange Mound. It's stupid and asking for trouble.

That doesn't mean that the hypothetical rapists or thieves are any less culpable, but it does mean that the victim is pretty stupid.

He is the name that has gotten somewhat lost in all of this. I admit I was very surprised when his name surfaced. He is on Instagram and Twitter a lot and seemed very respectful and upstanding. I realize that no one is going to reveal their true personality on social media if they have reason to hide it, but he lost his mom fairly recently and seemed to be very dedicated to improving himself and living his life in a way that she would have wanted him to. His handle is Abigail's gift or something like that. Just surprising to me.

Danny Parker on Scout last night also posted something to the effect that one of the players was done and one was likely coming back, but did not add any more specifics.

Situations are like this in every aspect of life. It doesn't change because you are a football player or a preacher.
There was always challenging situations. Both could be completely innocent which I have a tendency to believe because of what has been stated and personal experiences. However I expected more from some players as leaders. Yea, I get it.

With all that has happenened in the college and NFL ranks you would think that a player of any caliber would know not to get in this situation of which the waters are so muddy that it damages any career aspects.

This is not about them it is about this team and leadership. Now it's an issue for all and should be lesson. I could care less about a players sex life until they make choices that cause it to go public on the internet or a news cycle event. Pros know this and for years paid hush money to keep the it to a low volume. Innocent or not wrong place wrong time wrong choice.

Nice pedantic tidbit to try to show how informed you are and prove that none of us are actually educated and could possibly know or understand the history of sex throughout the ages. Back in those days of free love of the 60's and 70's, my mother used to say, "I get so tired of all these kids trying to tell me how great sex is and how it should be done. They didn't invent it. How do they think they got here?" Sex and sex among teens is not new, but as for acceptable levels of deviancy, we'll see how understanding you are when you have children - especially daughters - and you have to keep current on everything happening now just to try to be a step ahead and keep them children until they are ready for adulthood. See if it will make you think twice...

Every generation likes to think they have it all figured out when it comes to sexuality. here's the really interesting bit, the relative sexuality of humanity has more or less stayed the same throughout history. Of course having kids you'll want to protect them, everyone does, that's not unique. But adults? Whether sexuality was hidden like the 50s or up front in the 60s the appetites and habits of humanity have stayed roughly the same. We all just like to think that "oh no, that never happened when I was that age" Yes it did, you just didn't see.
