This isn't THAT big of a deal. Yes, Cutcliffe was a great QB coach and average playcaller. It's a big deal, but not the apocalypse some of you act like it is.
Remember, it's far far easier to find a quality coordinator than it is to find a quality HC. In about 5 seconds the other night, I listed 4 OCs off the top of my head that would do well here. There are tons of others.
The worry, I know, is that CPF isn't going to find the best guy. We all believe he's going to find someone safe, someone close. Let's hope not. He's done this twice, and both times he hired a Tennessee guy. Third time's a charm?
Can you imagine how funny it would be for Chavis and Cut to work together without Fulmer keeping them from killing each other?
Chief had some pretty good defense's in the past....2005 as an example....I agree he had a horrid year this year, but in his defense he has coached some good ones to....I think "Chief" is the problem on the hill. He hates any coach who has success b/c he rarely has any. I know he wanted to be a HC - that'll never happen at the 1-A level. You're "D" can't give up over 500 yards to your biggest rival then make a lameduck qb look like the Heisman front-runner (J. Parker Wilson).
Pls Chief step down, please step down.
I wish Phil would pull the plug on CJC.
