LOL - do you really think this is a big step? I'm assuming that was a joke.

Not a smoker myself, but I don't care one bit if others choose to. Clogging up the legal system with it is asinine.

Yes I really do think this is a big step. Everyone wants to complain about non productive people in this country. First step is to stop making people criminals. Smoking a plant does not make you a criminal and continuing this system is f'in insane.

“When an individual is arrested, even for the smallest possession of marijuana, it hurts their chances to get a good job; it hurts their chances to get housing; it hurts their chances to qualify for a student loan,” DeBlasio said. “It can literally follow them for the rest of their lives and saddle young people with challenges that for many are very, very difficult to overcome.”

With all this at risk why would you smoke?

The last paragraph is completely ridiculous. I do not think people should be arrested for possession of marijuana. A fine would suffice. Now if someone gets busted with distribution levels of marijuana, that's a different story.

You know how to solve that problem? By making legal, MJ should be held to a standard just like the food that we eat. Look the stuff is not some harmless thing but it is not what some people have tried to make it.

Yeah put the same standard on it as are on tobacco

Of course. Then study the hell out of it and figure out what it can and can not help. This plant does help people and if you look at a child that no longer has seizures you would think we live in the twilight zone seeing as it is a schedule 1 drug.

Yeah it does wonders for cancer patients having to deal with the side effects of chemotherapy.
