Got into reading more about this. Harmon testified in fed court in 1989 against the agent and refuted gambler. Harmon took 54k after jr year as a promise to have him as his agent.

"
Under cross-examination by Bloom's attorney, Dan Webb, Harmon said that over the next 15 months, the agents made payments to him totaling $54,000, including $1,000 for arranging to allow Bloom to call Harmon's teammate, Devon Mitchell, about representation. During that period, with Harmon playing a starring role, Iowa won the Big Ten championship and played in the 1986 Rose Bowl. The agents eventually did represent Mitchell.
Harmon admitted that university records indicated he was academically ineligible to play that season. According to Webb, the university nevertheless allowed Harmon to play in violation of conference rules."

Surprised Iowa did not FF the 1985 season.

brg, that is something else. Nice work.

I hear ya brg72...Tony was one of the most Talented & Gifted players the Vols have ever seen....man,what a QB he was...he was so electric....one of my favorite plays he made was the 2 point conversion against the Tide to beat them 28-27.....He was special,It was a sad thing that happened to him with the injury & then the drugs!

My favorite T. Robinson play was when he rolled left and fired a shot to the endzone against UCLA in the '85 opener. He had bigger plays, but that pass against UCLA was beautiful.

Robinson had a great future, it's painful to see what has happened to him.

Follow-up question, on his inmate sheet it says "Kevin A. Robinson", where did "Tony" ever come from? Is it Kevin Anthony Robinson? Then the Tony from the middle name.

Gosh, seeing that really is sad. Hopefully he can get squared up and live a sober, clean productive life eventually.

How would you know it was that Tony Robinson?I mean there's what 14/16 million people in Florida.

There is a picture on the website. But heck, it's been 20 years since I saw Tony Robinson (when I was a little kid). Not sure if that looks like him or not.

Weirdly, the link points to somebody else entirely now. But there's not much question that it was him in the original page linked.

The young guys who didn't see Robinson play don't know what they missed out on. He was phenomenal.

Sadly, Tony was also a good guy to be around. He dated a friend of mine and I got to know him pretty well during the six months they dated a long time ago now. I really feel old right now.

1985...where did the time go?

The first two UT games I attended in Neyland Stadium were in '85. Unbelievably they were the two ties. I went to the season opener and watched us squander a 26-10 fourth quarter lead against UCLA, giving up two TD's and two 2 pt conversions in the final 8 minutes.

Then I went to the GT game the week after Robinson was lost for the season. We couldn't do anything on offense and trailed 6-3 late. I was with my dad and we, along with what seemed like half the stadium left in the final 2-3 minutes. Once we got outside the stadium we heard a huge cheer from inside and then a guy came running down the street saying UT just kicked a game tying FG after getting the ball back in the final minute or so.

After that, I never left another game early again.

That looks just like him from the cover of the '85 media guide. You can't miss those ears or nose. What a shame.
