I read the article submitted by the op that contained the police report.

A police report is a faulty indicator of what might have actually happened. To believe otherwise requires an assumption that no one has ever lied to the police and that the police officer is always an effective communicator, impervious to error, and that all facts and circumstances have been documented. Why even have a trial?

I'm not taking sides here. I'm not a fan of rape, nor am I a fan of the way the accused are presumed guilty in today's media driven culture. Our legal system requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt and that the accused are innocent until proven guilty. In theory it is supposed to be set up, through Due Process, to favor acquitting the guilty instead of convicting the innocent. Debating how effective it implements that theory is another discussion for another day.

The bottom line here is that people who see the world in only black and white, who draw conclusions with limited data, scare me. There is a lot of that going on in here.
