I get it. I think it's a product of a young team. I really would like to have that Florida game back with Dobbs.

Same here. The peterman issue from last years Florida game had to be in the back of his mind.

I'm honestly not worried about him going to michigan. I can name 10 coaches off the top of my head they would look at before him. I personally think they end up with Mullen

Don't mean to sound negative, but you guys are overvaluing CBJ right now. I want him to stay, but he has a losing record here. Can't be appealing to the michigan boosters

Heard a man on the radio this morning that claimed to have checked a Michigan message board and he said that there was not a single mention of Butch's name on it where it concerned a potential coach. Probably not many boosters on the board though.

I wonder how many times his name was mentioned on this board while Gruden mania was ongoing.

During the Gruden fun, I don't recall much talk about Butch either. That said, I'm glad we got him and not some of the ones mentioned (Strong, Golden, Fedora)

We can still win 8

I'm actually fighting the urge to believe that we are about to win out and get to 8. I do this to myself every year... but something about the Bama game has me thinking a switch has flipped on with this team and they are about to ball out. We will see. Just need to get to a bowl game, that's all that matters.

I remembered groaning when I heard his name as a candidate BEFORE Dooley's final season...repeated that groan when Fedora and Strong fell through. 's why I found respect for Hart...he got it right.

Too soon.

While I agree that it is too soon to definitely say Hart "got it right", IMO it's not too early to say Hart didn't get it wrong. That might sound odd, but if CBJ is let go tomorrow the program is in MUCH better shape now than it was when he was hired.

He might never win big at TN, but he is at least steadying the ship and building a good foundation for the future.

Yeah.

I'm a professor here at Miss State. From the sounds of things here, he's likely to stay. This school has, and will, give him whatever he wants. There's enough talent in the state to be successful (especially if he keeps beating Ole Miss). People here know how hard of a murderer's row the SEC West is and are thankful to have a winner. At Florida, he's going to be expected to replicate Spurrier's and Meyer's success immediately.

That being said...I still think he would have a hard time saying no to Florida.

Today's USA Today newspaper's sport section (Sagarin Football Ratings) ranks Tennessee's schedule as #1 toughest in country!

I think we will see much more enjoyable match-ups the final 4 games this season and have a real shot to win each one!

Beat the Cocks Saturday boys to start the run!

Here is a question I have been thinking about since post-game on Saturday...

Which part of the Bama game most closely resembles the current state of TN football? The blow out in the 1st quarter? Or, the more competitive 2nd-4th quarters?

I'm excited to be looking forward to winnable games on Saturday rather than simply hoping for an upset.

...I'm also excited for a future when they are all winnable games.

I was listening to sports radio earlier and that idiot Clay Travis was talking about Butch and although I didn't catch all of it he said that in his research a SEC coach had never been successful unless they won at least nine games in their second season. Since Butch can't win more than eight this year he seemed to be saying Butch couldn't be successful.
I did some research on Travis. He like Derek Dooley is an attorney. Derek Travis, Clay Dooley one is like the other, one is an idiot lawyer that couldn't coach and the other is an idiot lawyer that can't discuss football intelligently.

I'm inclined to think it is somewhere in between. The OL played at a level unseen all year. I'm interested to see if that is because of Dobbs or if it was a one off.
