it would be nice if your articles came with links, or names of documents, so one could check them. I've read the actual treaty the only thing it says is that NATO would not move into East Germany until the Russians were out. thats it. and there are more conflicting accounts of what was said in 'gentlemen agreements' than i know what to do with. and besides this is international politics not you agreeing to pay your neighbors kid 20 bucks to mow the lawn, if you want something to last get it signed. besides i don't have a clue how it is supposed to be the US/NATO & Russia's obligation to say/limit what these new countries could or could not do of their own free will. as far as i am concerned if the independent countries didn't sign it or agree to it, it doesn't matter what came up in a conversation walking down a hallway.

Would be nice if you got off my nut sack and quit following me around and bashing because it's not pro-American!!

Appreciate it! :good!:

afraid of conversation? hate our First Amendment Rights in this country? hate that I am interested in the same stories as you, read the articles you post and decide they are worth commenting on? I read pretty much every article anyone puts up, you aren't special. :eek:k:

There's no discussion because it's always unconceivable that the US could be behind anything, right?! Always an excuse! Always Russia to blame!

And you're right! I'm not special, but I'm no simpleton either!

oh i believe we are behind a lot of things, its just with you and a few others that EVERYTHING is America's fault, and that no other nation has its own agendas going, or at least an agenda that the CIA didn't plant. we can't keep the white house secure, or what the director of the CIA had for breakfast secret and you expect us/me to believe that we have caused EVERY problem out there. the reason you get dismissed by me (and maybe others) is because its the same story over and over. its the boy who cried wolf, whenever you are right it gets dismissed because of the earlier claims.

Good grief.

Putin's Latest Target: More Than 200 Russian McDonald's - Businessweek

Ronald McDonald appears to be caught in the economic crossfire between Moscow and Washington. More than 200 of McDonald’s restaurants in Russia—or roughly half the country’s total 440 locations—are now under government investigation, according to the company, and a regulator has already closed nine McDonald’s outlets in recent weeks.

I'm sure they're being replaced with more healthful alternatives.

Hopefully, but I have heard that McDonalds in other countries are way better than over here because most countries have stricter guidelines on what you can legally call food.

more charges against Ukraine

BBC News - Ukraine crisis: Army accused of using cluster bombs

i think this would be pretty easy to figure out, find a piece of the bombs/missles and compare it to manufactured weapons. pretty interesting allegations made in the article about a possible division of Ukraine, no way to substantiate those claims so I am guessing they didn't happen, but found it ironic nonetheless.

The reporting/outside verification regarding what has happened during combat has been surprisingly bad.

and from what I read they weren't part of the agreement to not use cluster bombs, same as US and Russia. so nothing bad there unless ,as alleged, they used it over civilian areas.

Yep... Anybody that believed the claim from the very beginning isn't paying attention. Why would Russia make a deal like this with Poland (of all countries) when Poland is one of the countries the West is using as a Russian firewall into the European realm of influence? No way Russia would have made a deal like that with Poland.

yeah the Poles aren't using the west to protect themselves at all, completely one sided agreement here. This is why I said it was ironic for Poland to be included as they were the victims of a similar deal back in the day. Get over it a lot of those Baltic Sea nations hate Russia, and have good reason to. So its not far fetched to believe they would want to sign up with NATO.

but i will say I agree with you about there being any idea to 'share' the ukraine. Dumb report was dumb.

i wonder what would happen to oil prices if this fusion thing finally works out. huge fricking shift. I foresee the big O&G throwing billions at congress trying to stop it. I bet we here a lot of un-American talk about fusion, and how it won't work. then there is the jobs talk and taxes and NIMBY talk.

But there was one great puzzle – the price of oil had continued to go up, up, up.

That's not very puzzling.

Russia, which is highly dependent on energy, has to charge roughly $110 a barrel.

Wonder how much of that is production cost and how much is state costs?

Don't buy the "world awash in oil" spin. Prices could very quickly leap back where they were. There's not much spare capacity.

I'd say somewhere around 5 to 10 dollars a barrel goes into Putin's personal coffers.
