Drastic action needed on Ebola

The CDC announced Tuesday a team of infectious-disease experts would go to the Dallas hospital and help with containment and treatment efforts.

“I wish we had put a team like this on the ground the day the patient — the first patient — was diagnosed,” Frieden said.

OMG. When I was in El Salvador, one of these infectious disease expert teams was activated to investigate an abnormally high rate of diarrhea. One would think they would have activated a team for the first confirmed case of Ebola in the US before 2 nurses were infected.

No kidding!

Well, here it is:

"The highly respected Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota just advised the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) that “there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles,” including exhaled breath.

CIDRAP is warning that surgical facemasks do not prevent transmission of Ebola, and healthcare professionals (HCP) must immediately be outfitted with full-hooded protective gear and powered air-purifying respirators."

There's a key word in there. Can you find it?

Do you care about the qualifier at all? Or does that not fit your agenda?

Obviously, the potential is great enough that "healthcare professionals (HCP) must immediately be outfitted with full-hooded protective gear and powered air-purifying respirators." Or is that not enough for you?

Frontier Airlines have grounded their fleet and will be decontaminated, passengers are being handed out masks.

Also the same plane flew in/out of Atlanta before being decontaminated in Cleveland.

I imagine that cleaning the planes is no cheap task, plus the public will stop flying Frontier out of fear. The president needs to act now and pull his head out of his butt. If he doesn't then the American People should demand his immidiate removal from office and have charges brought against him for failure to honor his oath as president.

CDC just said the nurse probably shouldn't have flown, like no ****. Also saw that she had a fever of 99.5 on the plane apparently.

If one passenger comes down with Ebola the airline industry is in deep ****.

Yea. Any recreational flying will probably dry up quickly.

If I were going to visit my sister and her family normally I'd fly, but right now I'd just drive the 10 hours instead.
