Drastic action needed on Ebola

Wow. And all those that got on the plane after that. And the connecting flights they were on. And the people they know. And the people they know....

How on Earth is someone in that group of close contact providers for Duncan allowed to get on an airplane in the first place ?!?!

I want to know this. Should they not all be closely monitored during the "incubation" period?? Not allowed to jet about the country?? Good lord.

I found it, thanks. Does concern me a little that this could happen, I have several trips scheduled between now and the end of the year.

Yeah it is scary. This could be all over the USA in no time. Hopefully the CDC can get a handle on this. They have done a bad job so far.

Blame the hospital staff for being complete imbeciles if they weren't this wouldn't have been a story.

I'm guessing they were told if they're showing no symptoms then everything is fine. That's what the CDC has said from the beginning.

so what purpose does the CDC serve?

they just sit back and tell everyone not to worry, that it won't spread? yet they are completely impotent from making that happen?

makes sense

That and blame can go to the CDC as well.
I agree with Golf. all that were in contact should be closely monitored during the "incubation" period and not allowed to jet around the country.

If you want to blame hospital executives and directors I'm fine with that. Nurses just do what they're told.

My wife is a RN at a Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in a Dallas suburb, and I've read emails to employees from executives. Not pretty.

Ban domestic air travel now!

Am I doing this right guys?

How about simply not allowing a nurse, who has worked closely with a highly infectious ebola patient, to fly around the country? Especially after one other nurse has already been infected. I guess that's too difficult for those in charge to figure out. So far, I'm really impressed with the US response to ebola.

Specifically relating to ebola, or just in general?

How many people sat in her seat on the later flights? How about the flight attendant who may have picked up a drinking glass and then served others on other flights? There's no end to the possibilities of contact. I read just yesterday the time had passed for others to contract. Wrongo, again. This virus is a survivor.

Wow, Obama cancels trip to convene a White House Meeting on Ebola.

What's up with that?
