lol: I agree to point.
I've got mixed feelings on both. Cutcliffe is a damn good QB coach and a disciplinarian. This team needs someone who will chap someone's ass. Cut will. If he's gone, just make sure you replace him with somebody that will do the same.
Chavis saved his job as the season wore on IMO. His defenses have always been pretty damn good, except against spread/option teams. I'd give him another year to try and stop it.
Really, more than anything else, the way coaches have changed after this season, I'd wait till next year before making a change in the coordinator spots. It's looking like slim pickings for good coordinators right now.
It also looked like they called a Flanker pass, but Ainge rolled in the opposite direction for some reason. It was either a bust by Ainge or one of the screwiest play designs I've ever seen.
Cut needs to spend less time "chapping asses", and more time calling plays that will produce yardage. JMO.
Chief spent three games saving his job (Georgia, Arkansas, and LSU), and six games losing it (Cal, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina, Vandy, Kentucky). Sorry, he just didn't deliver.
Bring 'em both back next year, and next year...you get this year...maybe with more talent. Turns 9-4 in to, what...10-3?
Nope. New blood is clearly needed. If not from top to bottom, at least at the coordinator positions.
Riddle me this: What would Bo Pellini have done against a wounded LSU offense, and what would Steve Spurrier have done against the LSU defense? Given this UT team.
There's your answer.
go vols.
we quit using it b/c it worked
Probably the same thing Chavis did, hold them to 13 points or 15 if you count the 2 point conversation.
I agree they have had subpar seasons, but I wouldn't fire anyone without a good replacement in the wings. Right now, all the decent coordinators are getting absurd contracts to flop as head coaches. Next season make a change if needed (which it will probably necessary).
I'm not for making change just to make it. CPF made his bed when he hired Cut back.
We put it all in one man's hands, and he failed. Our running game was being manhandled. I would of mix in the Jones play a few times and then set them up for a play action deep pass while everyone is in the box. :ermm:
1. Berry is not a better QB than Gerald, look at the films and look at the stats... 2. There was a statement posted of the more you run the formation the less it would work.. Completely Wrong.. He is averaging almost 12 yards per carry when he runs it. He averaged 20 yards per carry against one of the best defenses in the country.. 3. Gerald is a very very very good thrower so it has no limits. Its not geralds throwing ability that is limiting the effectiveness of this formation its Coach Cutcliffe. Im not sure if he is ready to let Gerald throw it or what but he has stated that Gerald is a NATURAL QB and that Gerald can throw the ball very well and this is coming from a QB Guru..

How proud were you to see Gerald getting PT in the SEC championship game? He made a difference - I just wish it could have translated to a win.
Im always proud of Gerald, he is a great young man. He needs to be utilized a lot more though. He is averaging almost 12 yards per carry and has about 9 first down in his 13 touches. He makes plays and for some reason he is not being allowed to make plays. Hes gonna keep working hard and when his number is called he is gonna produce and thats what hes about, production...
