NFL Game Thread

Hoenstly I think both guys played behind pretty damn good lines for their whole careers...well until now for Brady.

Which is why I'm hearing the skeptical that he's on the decline.
The pats simply have to many holes, and it's to much for Brady to cover. Also the dlines are finding large holes in the patriots milk toast pathetic oline.

Antonio Pierce has no faith in the Raiders understandable as in to win a game. Yep he does have them predicted to finish at the absolute worst 0-16.
They play the rams but even that doesn't look as winnable if the raiders oline can't block combined with their ineffective defense along with the rams can run the ball effectively, and I could see Jared cook having a great day vs the raiders.

IMO, Manning had a pretty great pass-protecting line for about 5-6 years in Indy, and his first year in Denver. Above average most years, but some years we didn't notice how average/bad they were because his snap-to-release time is by far the fastest in the league.

He only had a good run-blocking line a few years, his entire career.

They had pretty even lines over their careers, but I'm not getting into it.

He might be and he might not, but honestly nobody really knows at this point. He's getting killed right now.

This is a cool read, praising Manning and Brady both for snap-to-release time....by the way, in the only year I saw stats for (2012), Russel Wilson was slowest from snap to release (part of that is designed roll-outs and scrambling).

When this article was written in late 2013, Manning was averaging 2.33 seconds. For reference, Tom Brady led the season before at 2.47 (beating Manning by 0.03 of a second).

What does 1.32 Mississippis do to a pass rush? It makes it almost four times more difficult to sack the quarterback. Manning is the second-most difficult passer to sack this season — once every 31.5 pass attempts.

Fast releases for Peyton Manning, Tom Brady have propelled their NFL careers - The Denver Post

They pats oline is milk toast so it's not a illusion their oline is deplorable possibly as horrid as what the bears once had.

If a team has a effective dline and a good or very good offense with a average or above average qb the patriots will continue to be in trouble of Losing more games.

I don't doubt the pats simply have to many holes that Brady can't overcome this year, and if the pats do make the playoffs it's because the division looks like the new NFC least.

BTW, how sick was Hali's strip/sack? He timed his edge rush and that snap so perfectly, Solder would have only stood a chance if it had been a shallow dropback.

Beast mode worthy or topnotch number one worthy of top 10 plays making Brady look like a five star chump. Or Deon sanders primetime worthy.
Yes the chiefs have a disruptive dline but I didn't anticipate seeing that kind of great play with that result.

I'm sure the raiders envy this was a fumble and not the flimsy tuck rule garbage along with not able to win vs a unimpressive pats team that no doubt wouldn't have beat a Vikings team if bridgewater was starting.
Heck the pats are so unimpressive that they need air bud to be a effective team.

Dean Sanders is my favorite player of all time.

Seems rather strange he wore fur coats when Atlanta a city that doesn't get cold weather.

Hey NFL, your Thursday night games are hot garbage.

Ain't that the truth. Figure it out, dumbasses.

On another note, the difference between a competent and incompetent QB is crazy.

IMO, there are basically 4 kinds of QBs:

The kind that makes it very hard to win (Gabbert, Ponder, Romo)
The kind that won't lose you many games (Wilson, Kaepernick)
The kind that can take over and win you games (Rivers, Eli, Big Ben, Romo)
The kind that can make you win against any opponent (Manning, Brady, Rodgers)

I'd say Eli is the first one as well. When he is bad, he's as bad as Romo...maybe worse. That dude is living off 2 rings and a career of mediocrity.
