'15 TN OT Drew Richmond (Former Ole Miss commit)

I think one major flaw with your argument as it relates to Dylan Jackson is that he looks like he will not have to add 40-50 pounds. With his current size and the fact that he is only a Junior it is very likely he is 275-280 when he first steps foot on campus. Now he might play DE and 275 and be a stud. Absolutely possible. But this idea that his career will be ruined if he moves to OL because he did not play OL in high school is absurd.

Speaking of flaws in an argument. Dylan Jackson is a Senior not a Junior.

Does anyone else feel like this will come down to who wins vs ole miss?

No, I think Ole Miss is a hot team right now and closer to home. The only thing that might temper that is if Wallace were to have a season ending injury. That would really destroy their season.

A recruit also looks at how the staff is developing their offensive lines. I know that Dooley left us in the hole there but where is Pair, Sanders, and Wiseman? Those kids have gone through two of Butch's spring trainings. How does a true freshman come in and start?

I think it also hurts that we lost Carr. Other teams make big deals out of things like that saying you would not be happy going way over there.

Since the NCAA is open to hiring ancillary staff now, I would hire Fulmer as a consultant. The OL is the weakest link on this team.

I don't think it's a deciding factor but if UT does it with this young a team I think it does at least help somewhat.

This is going to be a hard one to win. Jones has to win Richmond's mom IMHO moreso than he has to win Richmond at this point. I think Drew and his father are both comfortable with him at UT and love the staff but they also like Ole Miss and it is closer to home. We're not out of it but this will be a very tough sale and I'm hoping Butch is hedging his bets by getting another good OT prospect. This is the one area of the class where I'm less than extremely satisfied.

The only reason I had the inclination was because it has been said in his recruitment that how we perform this year would possibly have an effect on his decision.

Are you really asking how does a true freshman come in and start? Jashon was a DT and won starting RG spot in less than a week after moving to Oline. Coleman Thomas was a Center in HS and is now our starting RT as a true freshman. 2 true freshman are currently doing what you are asking how can it be done about. Richmond could easily start as a true freshman.

As for pair, he is the 2 star talent he was recruited to be. Weisman the staff is really high on but both training camps he has been hurt and missed key snaps. He plays in games and is our 6th man off bench. Sanders needs time to develop. He is only a redshirt freshman and hopefully you realize that it takes more than 2 years in most lineman cases to fully develop

Would be hilarious if this happened, but Memphis is a joke.

Memphis has gotten a lot better, 63-0 over Austin Peay, barely lost to UCLA in the rose bowl then beat MTSU 36-17, they won't beat Ole Miss but I don't think it will be as bad of a blow out as folks think

Jashon Robertson

We've had lots of DLine Recruits switched to OLine and have done very well. They tend to be more athletic and most of these guys play both sides in high school.

I don't do blue font. :)

I said him being considered on the OL would in part depend on IF he had ever played it before. I have no idea if he has or not. A lot of DL kids do/have played OL in HS. Also IMO taking a guy who is 6'3-6'4, athletic, and 300LBS as a DT and moving him to OL, is different as he is already comparable size for the position he is moving to. Now taking a DE and trying to add 40-50LBS to him , and teach him a new position is a different situation at least to me.

Leb got it.

With Wallace at QB, OM is bound to beat themselves in a few games this year.
