Didn't anyone tell you?? If he doesn't pick us then he sucked anyways, and if he does then he deserves a 5th star, so either way it's all good.

and like always the sarcastic posts such as this would heavily outnumber the few posts that might be bitter.

I think the season and our shuffles along the oline will make for good marketing material for Richmond. Regardless if he initially commits.

It sounds like many have resigned themselves to the understanding that, if Richmond chooses UT on Tuesday, the Vols will be in a serious fight and may not hold on to him until NSD because he will be a soft commit.

In other words, next Tuesday's announcement is more a public proclamation of what Richmond is feeling at that time.

With that said, we'll the sentiment really be that UT remains in serious contention for a flip on or before NSD if he announces for Ole Miss?

If he announces for Ole Miss, the fans here will say it's LONG from being over. If he picks UT those same fans will tell you how Drew won't even take calls from Ole Miss. :)

He'll announce to Ole Miss IMO.

And UT will continue pushing him hard.

But he'll sign to Ole Miss.

Memphis hates us.

At this point Blair and UT are pretty much gift-wrapping that LT spot from Day 1.

If that isn't enough, nothing will be enough to secure his commitment.

As much as I hate the thought, that is the vibe I am getting as well. Looking at UT's roster, West TN is just about non-existent. The Jason Carr situation sure did not help any. Maybe the staff did take Boulware as they knew how this was about to play out. I know there has been talk he could possibly play some OT, but OG was more likely. Maybe the staff just took the "best available" OL wise on their board. Maybe CBJ can still get Drew in Orange.

Any chance we take a JUCO OT? I know Blair didn't work out too well but...

Would be tough to get in on some good ones this late IMO. If they could, I'd like to see Tyler Howell get a look. 6'8 300lbs and moves well. He's at one of the Kansas Juco's so maybe they could get in on him.

The Jason Carr situation didn't help but I don't think it hurt either...Do you realize how many players from Memphis haven't worked out for Ole Miss? Boulware projects as an OG so there is nothing to read into that....Memphis doesn't hate UT but there are some influences at the high school level working against us. Ole Miss really doesn't have a strong presence of fans in that city but they do have connections among high school coaching staffs that will be hard to recruit against. I still think it's 50/50 for Richmond and I do think he will commit to Tenn on Sept 9th (he evidently has a lot of friends at UT and his dad likes Butch) but we will have to work to keep him.

Actually they have a very large fanbase here. Not a clear #1 between Tenn and Ole Miss. Being that so many people live in Miss and work in Memphis it could be a little deceptive, but Ole Miss is at least the 2nd biggest SEC fanbase in Memphis.

Ole Miss and Tennessee are neck and neck for the largest SEC fan bases in Memphis but ole miss has an advantage, being that Oxford is just over an hour away.

I lived in Cordova and worked at the First Tenn Bank Main Office in Bartlett on the corner of Summer and Stage from 2005-2008...That's definitely not what I observed but they weren't any good back then either, so they could have had some fans come out of the woodwork since I moved back to Knoxville. What I saw was mostly Tenn, Ark and Alabama fans for football and Memphis fans for bball...I can't say that I ever met an Ole Miss fan.

This is feeling like Josh Malone to me. Not very good vibes going in, but he picks the state school. Vol lock, IMO

So who is our contingency plan if we don't land Richmond? Surely there's someone else we're looking at hard if our coaches thought there was a real possibility that we wouldn't get Richmond.
