Thanks bald. To explain my situation more, even though it's only been a few weeks, we have really started to fall in love with each other, and have been talking about the future. This is my first serious relationship, and I wasn't sure how long i should wait. I think i'll ask her hand in marriage once i have more money.

Judging from everything you said, Id say go ahead and marry her. Try it out for a year and see what happens.

I am unsure of the level of sarcasm here. I usually side on the side of sarcasm but I am gonna pretend that you are serious and offer a counter point.

To many people today do not honor their marriage vows. Marriage has become temporary and to easily severed when things get tough. I read and try to follow the Bible as closely as I can and it states conditions where divorce is warranted but it also says:

Has not [the LORD] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. 16 "I hate divorce," says the LORD God of Israel, "and I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the LORD Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.

-Malachi 2:15-16

Take your time. Learn who she is and who you are. My wife and I have been married 10 years and she is a very different woman from the girl I married. I am fortunate that we have grown together and have become closer because of our experiences. Every couple is going to be different and you will (and have) heard success stories of people with short engagements but in my opinion they are the exception. If you are meant to be with her it will be so.

I assumed sarcasm was an appropriate topic in the off topic thread, but your serious note is appreciated as well glich.

To answer your original question honestly. My first wife and I were young when we got married. I was 20, she was 19. We were 1 month away from our 23rd wedding anniversary when she passed away from cancer.

If it truely feels right, don't let anyone talk you out of it. Just make sure it really feels right.

Side note: We were dating a month when I asked her to marry me. We were married 13 months after our first date.

I will second this. My wife and I married at 22 (me) and 20. Going on 28 years. It's been tough at times, but it's been mostly awesome. Only thing I would say is don't do it unless you are in it for the long haul.

On topic whilst being off, Bald...I never properly thanked you for your words when my wife passed... Helped me immensely. :salute:

Yep, my wife and I met when we were 19. Got married a couple years later. This December will be out 9 year anniversay, and we're doing better than ever.

I do agree that there's no reason to rush though. You've got your whole lives ahead of you. Waiting a couple/few years isn't going to hurt anything, and it could end up saving you a lot of trouble down the road.

Pretty much the same boat I'm in. We've been dating for over a year (known each other for many more), and it's clear to me we love each other. She was actually the first one to jokingly bring it up just a couple weeks ago and I tried to play it off. I'm still in school and she is too, but my heart says yes. I think I'll talk to her parents in a little bit about it. Scary but exciting times for me. Hope it all goes well.

Best of luck to you vol knight.

No need to rush. Wait til you have some arguments.

Are they over legitimate issues? Can you all argue like adults and not let it devolve into overly emotional insults? Most importantly, can you reach a resolution?

Plus, enjoy dating. Enjoy having your own space for a while.

I love how folk always be talking about CP84:

If he ever figures it out...
If he ever learns how to play WR
If he ever learns how to run routes
If he.......

My man doin' jus fine.
