'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

I had a dream last night that I actually met Tuttle in person and he noticed that I was wearing a Tennessee shirt. He pointed it out and said that he was going to help us out. Weird I know but looks like he's all Vol folks.

Lo,l ya right... Keep thinking that pal

My opinion:
The star system does not take into account: character, honesty, integrity and work ethic to name a few traits.

I will take a CBJ committed 3* over a kiffin recruited 4/5* everyday. Add dooley and richt to that list. The CBJ recruit will be available to play for 3-4 years to help the team. A kiffin recruit helps for NSD rankings and may be gone soon...depends on if the conditions of parole allows travel to away games (across state lines) :)

I guess that I learned from kiffin that he does not recruit quality character players because he does not understand the concept.

All the guys getting arrested at uga; anyone know their average star rating? Might be fun to look at. J Winston was a 5*, how about Joe Mixon or DGB?

Just something for thought.
I feel that CBJ and staff are recruiting quality young men who are also talented football players. :salute:

I usually don't read your posts since you are on ignore, but I looked at this one and am now quite concerned...

You aren't saying that you think recruiting services are better talent evaluators than a college coaching staff, right? That would quite possibly be the most idiotic thing I have ever heard in my life.

Unfortunately for UT, the recruiting services were better than dooley and company...

Yep.

It's like which came first...bamers or inbreeding?

I can answer that.
Without inbreeding, there could be no bammers. So inbreeding was the etiology of bammers. Saw it in an old medical textbook, but just cannot find it for a direct quote and bibliography reference ("link" for you youngsters) However, bammers have perpetuated and perfected the inbreeding process. :)

Butch's eval of Woody Quinn agrees with you. Same for Dooley's eval of pretty much his whole team

In CBJs defense, dooley's staff pushed Quinn very hard, really talked him up and there was so little time til NSD. Also UT had no healthy TEs at that moment. Iin a serious time crunch, it was a moment of trust that was misplaced and backfired on CBJ and staff. May be your only evidence to support you argument in regards to CBJ while at UT (going forward)

Stars prove to be right over large sample sizes of players. But each individual player cannot be successfully predicted.

Stars matter over large sample sizes. Stars don't mean a thing for each individual player.

Minor point here. These two statements are not congruent. To say a statement like "stars definitely matter", one would need to provide evidence that there is a causal relationship between star ranking and success. Clearly no one is attempting to draw that distinction. A more appropriate conclusion would be like "There is a strong positive correlation between stars and performance which suggests that stars are a strong indicator for future performance.

Adults(assuming you are one) that try and constantly correct other adults is annoying. If you have something to add fine. But if not kill it with your view on how things should be worded.

As I am still somewhat new, I liked it because of the inferences following the post and the other four likes that the post already had. I am assuming there is some strong reason that I should like, like the smiley, especially in regards to Shy Tuttle...

GFW is our inside man. He posted a smiley face, a commitment is looming.
