'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

I watch college and NFL as close as anyone. I've won my NFL fantasy league 4 years in a row. I guess I'm ashamed to say I have no idea who Ryan Sims is or who he even played for.

I'm pretty sure Shy knows that going to battle beside KM will present one of the greatest DT tandems ever and going beside an average DT at UNC will be average.

Lol @ fantasy champion self-plug. Vol.

Most here know who Ryan Sims is. That isn't the issue

I know it's not the issue. Just trying to help a fellow Vol fan out if I could. I didn't know who he was... And more importantly I don't think a year from now Shy Tuttle will know who he is/was. He and his roommate KMack will be too busy crushing cinder blocks with their bare hands in their spare time.

A poster on the UT board that is from tuttle's area is saying some intresting things such as
I heard that Tuttle was spotted in Chapel Hill over the weekend and has recently been spotted in all UNC gear. Also heard that it mom has wanted him in Chapel Hill all along but it was coaches and his uncle who are pushing UT. He has also state before that he is a mama's boys. Is there any clarification on his stance? Can anyone overcome mom?
Also, Chad Simmons posted an interview on Scout with Tuttle yesterday. He said that UNC and NCSU are recruiting him the hardest. He also said what he liked most out of his top 3. UT he says is a football school, NCSU has great coaches and UNC feels like home. That last line scares as I am inclined to think that Chapel Hill is where he feels most comfortable, not to mention they are recruiting him hardest or that they just lost 4 DL and Shy would almost be guaranteed early playing time if he enrolls early. It has also been confirmed that he in fact was in Chapel Hill on Saturday.
I don't give a damn what the Crystal Balls are saying. I do not feel good about him ending up in Knoxville
Is he already scheduled to attend a game? He already acknowledges that UT is a football school so I am not expecting much in the way of it surprising him. Recruiting follows where you are most comfortable, who you are most comfortable with, and the opportunity to contribute. He doesn't talk about UT, who he talks to at UT or that UT in on his trail, yet he says that UNC feels like home, acknowledged last week that he speaks to their DL coach multiple times a week, says they are recruiting him the hardest, and takes unplanned and non-publicized visits to Chapel Hill a month before his decision. Also, I am from Davidson County and although I haven't been back there in years, the chatter I passed along before about being seen in UNC gear and his mom overwhelmingly favoring UNC are things I have discussed with friends still in the area. It's more like Barbershop chatter. Also, I have said nothing about what I read. The interview is a video of Shy and sources have confirmed he was in Chapel Hill because UNC posted pictures of him at their scrimmage. They have since been taken down but it has been confirmed that he was there.
I am not jumping off the cliff in terms of Shy, I just felt compelled to speak up after I have been lurking here for 3 months and have seen too much confidence in terms of his recruitment, in wake of very little evidence other than a few CB predictions. This one is far from over.
Thank you and don't worry, I will stay around.
As for what I quoted above, I think that may be what UNC is doing. I heard this evening that they convinced Shy to take another visit back to Chapel Hill and when he did, they put recently introduced Graduate Assistant, Ryan Sims, who spent 10 years in the NFL and was a 1st round pick out of UNC, on him. From what I was told, Shy appeared very impressed. I don't know how long UNC will keep Ryan around, but it's definitely not good for others if he can help recruit for them without being able to go on recruiting trips.

Holy crap! Whatever 10 year old wrote this prose is doing good for his age. People take this garbage seriously?

"It seemed to me that, somehow, the blue jay was trying to communicate with me. I would see him fly into the house across the way, pick up the telephone, and dial. My phone would ring, and it would be him, but it was just this squawking and cheeping. 'What? What?!' I would yell back, but he never did speak English."

Nationdom is almost always wrong, but he's actually not mistaken here.

The Star system has been shown over time to be a tremendous predictor of probability of success.

Doesn't mean 5 stars can't bust, doesn't mean 2 stars can't be great.

Just means that 5 stars are statistically much more likely to achieve success than a 2 or 3 star.

Stars definitely matter.

Coaches evals matter more.

See Chris Donald, Kenny O'Neal, Patrick Willis

Lo,l ya right... Keep thinking that pal

I usually don't read your posts since you are on ignore, but I looked at this one and am now quite concerned...

You aren't saying that you think recruiting services are better talent evaluators than a college coaching staff, right? That would quite possibly be the most idiotic thing I have ever heard in my life.

Cool bro keep me on ignore and don't cheat and look. No I don't think that

Yep.

It's like which came first...bamers or inbreeding?

Interesting question. I've read a couple of articles that claimed that many of the early settlers in Bammer came from KY. I believe that most "family trees" in both states are basically a circle. So which do you think came first?

I had a dream last night that I actually met Tuttle in person and he noticed that I was wearing a Tennessee shirt. He pointed it out and said that he was going to help us out. Weird I know but looks like he's all Vol folks.

This is a joke right? If not than it may be time to take a break from VN for a while.
