I doubt highly that Tony Stewart would give up racing over this.
I'm saying the court of public opinion may force his sponsors to leave and having this on your record, even if no criminal charges are filed, will make new potential sponsors weary of signing on. In a round about way it could end his career.
What I don't like is that a stupid young driver, wearing all black, getting out of a black car, at night on a dirt track is potentially going to cost one of NASCAR's stars to end his career prematurely. Racing organizations across the country need to implement a rule now you can't get out of the car to show how bad-ass to another driver. I'm honestly surprised this sort of incident hasn't happened in NASCAR yet to be honest.
I don't follow the sport, but I was interested to see fans opinions on this.
On the one hand, standing in a space designated for fast-moving automobiles significantly increases one's likelihood of death or serious bodily injury.
On the other hand, it's an amazing coincidence that the guy he was trying to bless out happened to be the one to hit him.
Looks like everybody pretty much agrees it was an unfortunate accident as a result of a boneheaded move?
