Being that tall doesn't always help in the dl.I was in the Orange bowl in 97 and watched Nebraska 6'3 320lbs lineman manhandle them.Henderson even said it was a humbling experience.
I saw them in the tunnel a few hours before the game in t shirts and shorts and was blown away.I've never seen a group of men with legs like they all had.I played a little college ball my self and have been in and out of gyms and weight rooms for 30 yrs.It was unrealIt's a double-edged sword. Yeah, they have to get lower leverage wise, but being taller allows you take up more space and most likely have a longer wing span.
That Nebraska team was filthy, man.

Lol not hardly. But those Nebraska o lineman I was referring too gave us one to start the 2nd half.9 straight run plays too start the half and we could do nothing too stop them.Game over
Yeah they were. But being an ex o lineman myself they were fun too watch even though they wore the wrong colorIt's off topic but since someone brought it up, the rule against chop blocking really should be called the Nebraska rule from how much they did it under Osborne. They also crack back blocked constantly (also now illegal)...When we played them twice in the late '90's chop blocking had been made illegal but the penalty was seldom enforced so they still did it regularly. Shaun Ellis was chop blocked in the '00 Fiesta Bowl and injured on the play with no penalty called...I'm not saying they weren't good but those were some dirty m'fers.
