I recall the impact UF's major D-Line haul had a few years back....Floyd, Powell, Easley. If we can land Tuttle to go along-side KMac, we are going to see a similar impact on the SEC.

Absolutely. We may not have one of the top high school football states in the country (although it's getting up there) but we have a unique advantage with our 8 border states. Most of which are among the best high school football states in the country.

Two of the best of those border states don't quite have the dominant in-state programs that can keep the majority of their top kids home, in North Carolina and Virginia. Va Tech is a good program, but they haven't been that in recruiting over the years and Beamer is getting old. I feel like Butch is going to make UT the quasi big in-state program over there, even though we aren't in those states.

Exactly, we need to position ourselves as "the school" for kids in North Carolina & Virginia.

I agree with the states listed but you should have added GA. We always recruit well there and it is absolutely loaded with talent year in and year out.

totally agree...the Carolina's,VA and GA are the keys for us in out of state recruiting...then UT can go for a few big names in FL,TX,OK,CA,but the base needs to be set in those states...

Correct. The amount of Georgia, Carolina, Va, and Florida players on our roster seems to go up when we're more competitive. Say what you will about Kiffin, but he was spot on when he said that Georgia is the key that pulls all the recruiting together, and how well we recruit in Georgia (metro Atlanta specifically) is usually a barometer of the state of our team. I thought this was an interesting map showing the geographic distribution of our recruiting, which supports what's being said on the matter. SIAP.

Just shows me we're not doing a good enough job of recruiting the Dakotas.

But then again they did ignore the Yahoo story about the agents paying the Alabama football players a couple of seasons ago.

How can you expect players and coaches to be ethical when the NCAA and their institutions are unethical?
