I don't see why he wouldn't unless he's afraid to get ripped for his QB play and lose all interest.

Barton Simmons and Swain both felt he was skipping camps on purpose because of other camps moving him to WR. Each camp he attends and that happens, all it does is hurt his "QB" chances IMO. He may be trying to play it safe.

I don't see anything wrong with that if he's really putting all his eggs in the QB basket.

So we are not waiting on TG's commitment coach? When did you decide this?

When we took Dormany. I'd be more than glad to see this kid play for the vols, just not behind the center. He's been moved to WR at most camps. That says a lot.

He could of thrown in front of the coaches. The kid is showing us everything, but the work he's putting in throwing. That makes me think he's not putting in that work.

Uhhhhh Rolando McClain was A 6.0 4* top 50 player IIRC.

I watched Ro's process from day one. Recruiting services backtracked and re-ranked him to save face and income. He was a solid 2-3 star by all services before his freshman year. After that they all upped him as to not look incredibly stupid.

If that is what he is doing, I would not be taking him as a 3rd QB in my class. If the kid does not have confidence in his own abilities as a passer, I'd roll with Jennings & Dormady(who did show up and compete) and Gibson may be a take at WR around NSD.

Bull****. Alabama has had the #1 class 4 years in a row. In that timeframe they have 2 National Championships and are 46-7 overall.

Stars are not the entire determining factor of success but it's a very large portion of it. If stars didn't matter, no one would be on here talking about recruiting to begin with.

Same excuse when Dooley would recruit a 2 or 3 star. Soon as myself or someone else would scratch our heads the anti star gestapo posters would come out of the woodwork and act like these guys were all diamonds in the rough. We see how that turned out. Stars isn't the be all end all, but there is a reason multiple big time programs all go after these guys. Personally, I give offer lists more weight than stars. But the teams with the best classes do tend to excel on the field.

They do this every year. Look at the Chris Jones kid from Mississippi, the services missed badly on him.

I'm with Sanddune, I look at offer lists.

He's a very peculiar case honestly, idk what to make of it until I see/hear of him throwing.

Do I get a patch?

No but

Excellent and spot on call. Offer lists are way more important than stars by a mile. We just duked it out with National Championship coach...Nicktator... over a 3 star QB....LSU just took a 3 star QB. Coaches aren't really concerned about stars.

Seam passes, outs, ins, skinny posts. They are much crisper. His fundamentals are much better than TG's.

Don't be so upset. TG is going to be one heck of a WR at the collegiate level. It is where he can do the most damage.

I guess I need to watch some of this TG at WR tape y'all are so high on.

I gotcha. I wasn't 100% sure how he started out but remember the end ranking with him. 100% agree with you and dune about offer lists being most important too. Can't deny a solid offer list.

Yeah this star business is about income for recruiting services. The most recent one I remember is Zeus...Orlando Brown was 3 star and had the largest offer list ever...then he was bumped in the middle of the night.

I also will say this, with my experience with Butch and co., an offer from this staff means you can play ball. Period. They are incredible at spotting talent.
