How is a 4* recruit and top 25 pf a mid major or low major pickup? And Mostella was going to Pitt. And Punter to Mizzou.

Owens is no longer a 4*

Mostella is still not cleared

And Missouri is a middle of the pack team in the conference you were just dogging, no?

Scout dropped him down to a 3* prospect after his year of prep ball.

No one is saying Mostella is mid major, it's just a question of if he can get cleared. Pitt didn't think he could, maybe U.T. gets him in, he is obviously a high major recruit.

Punter had Mizzou offer and that's about it. He is a decent 2 year solution, but not much more.

So Owens is less of a player now? What skills decreased and made him drop? And mizzou isn't a mid major or low major team. They chose a bad coach in Haith.

I was right, this is from the Ohio Rivals page.

The star of the class is Owens, a 6-foot 8-inch power forward out of Laurel, Md.. He's a 4-star recruit and rated as the No. 21 power forward in the nation for the class of 2014 according to Scout.com. Owens is currently playing a post-graduate season at TAAG Academy in Florida, but will be classed as a freshman when he arrives in Athens. He chose Ohio over offers from Miami, Fl., South Florida and Florida Gulf Coast, among others

Glad you were right, very important. This kid was, really, 5'9" in 8th grade, and a guard. He's had multiple growth spurts. He's likely still growing, and could end up at 7'0"+. Really an important addition to the class. CDT and staff made things happen and got things done!!!

@wesrucker247: #Vols 2014 Top247 PF signee Tariq Owens just told me he’s 6-foot-10.5, 190 pounds. If he turned sideways, he’d disappear. #FeedHim

Yes, that is exactly what it said. 190lbs. Nothing a little strength and conditioning and nutritional program won't fix. Shaq gained 50 lbs between high school and college and another 25 going to the pros. Relax.

And another 40 or so after the pros. :)

He was choosing between Tennessee, Temple, and UT-Martin. Final choice seems to me to be a no-brainer. Glad to see Tariq added. Now, if all qualify and clear, the real work begins. Can't wait to see this mixture of returners, grad transfers, Jucos, and late HS commits jell together. Building chemistry among a group of guys who are yet to know each others limitations and abilities is not going to be easy. Donnie Tyndall and his staff & hodge podge team have their work cut out for them. As I have said before, it may be a rough ride, but I also think it will be fun to watch and follow.

I just hope the fan base shocks the living hell out of me, and gives them the support they deserve. Win OR lose.

Tariq:

"Their style of play, it fits me well. They get up and down the court and press. Coach Tyndall said they press, fall back and pressures the offense on D. It sounds like the type of system I want to play in.

Haven't heard this in a while.

This is exactly the type of enthusiasm and attitude this program has long been hungry for.
