Not even close to the player Vick was in HS or VT. Gibson falls somewhere between Xavier Lee and Vince Young. Hines Ward in my opinion.

Well, why not? Here's my list of top 10 College DT-QBs I've seen:

1) Michael Vick (Virginia Tech)
2) Vince Young (Texas)
3) Tim Tebow (Florida)
4) RGIII (Baylor)
5) Cam Newton (Auburn)
6) Tommie Frazier (Nebraska)
7) Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M)
8) Pat White (West Virginia)
9) Brad Smith (Missouri)
10) Antwaan Randle El (Indiana)

Honorable Mention: Eric Crouch (Nebraska), Denard Robinson (Michigan)

JMO...

edit: forgot about Manziel

I was just saying his game reminds me of vicks not that he is as talented. Also dual wise as much as it pains me to say I'd go tebow number one.

I dunno ya'll. Gibson seems like a Peyton Manning/Tom Brady type, only better.

Yeah, it's not a very good argument though.

You could argue Cam Newton had more talent around him and an offense they played to his strengths better.
Vick played in an I Formation set and took off many times all on his own.
Why I think Vick is the best of dual threat guys too.

I think people just can't grasp the concept that an elite dual-threat QB has UT as his leader. Therefore, OSU MUST be his leader, because why would he go anywhere else when he can play for Corch Irvin Meyers?

Manziel was an elite dual threat QB. Tebow, as much as I don't like him, is the best DT QB I've seen. The championships don't lie.

This. I think people are forgetting the UF version of Tebow. Absolutely HATED him in college but he was so ridiculously efficient. Anytime it was 3rd and less than 5, everyone in the stadium knew he was gonna bullrush with the football and yet no one could stop him. Ever. Wasn't he close to a 70% passer in college too?

not seeing any love for the Rust Belt Tebow, likely due to the terrible league he played in, but I always really like LeFevour's game and wondered what he could have done at a higher level

NVM I just looked it up.

Tebow was a 67% passer. Finished with over 9,200 passing yards in 3 seasons as the starter. 88 TDs to only 16 INTs. Also ran for over 2,900 yards with a mind boggling 57 TDs.

Oh and despite the fact that he ran the ball so many times in short yardage situations, Tebow NEVER fumbled the ball once in his college career.

Did all of this while pretending to be a regular Jerry Lewis

What did Tebow weigh in college, like 240-50lbs? Who besides Eric Berry was gonna try to stop a ball carrier only slightly smaller than your average SEC lineman? No wonder he was so efficient in short yardage and the redzone.

Oh yeah, no doubt that was a huge part of his effectiveness. I'm just pointing out how historically efficient Tebow was compared to other great DT QB's.

Vick was a 56% passer in his 2 college seasons with a 21/11 TD to INT ratio.

Manziel was had a 68% completion percentage compared to Tebow's 67% but he also threw 6 more INTs in his career with 200 less pass attempts.

I'm just reminding everyone what an absolute monster Tebow was back in the day.

Now, let me go take a shower because I feel dirty for defending a Gator.

He would still be playing in the NFL is he would have switched to RB or TE in my opinion.

Teblow would make a perfect H-back, but he's obviously too stubborn or prideful to admit that and take a few million annually. Can you imagine him getting the ball in the open field on a design play? He could be so dangerous.
