Only on VN could being named someone's leader lead to so much pessimism and paranoia.
I think most know TG named Tennessee his leader. It's not just a few people on this board who do not buy it. You might also note his CB predictions still do not show UT as his likely landing spot even after "claiming" several times Tennessee leads. You would think after he named UT as the leader, those %'s would have taken a major swing to the Vols. Yeah, not so much.

Except they did take a major swing. We are currently #2 out of the 5 teams that have CB predictions. Currently at 24%. And IIRC just a little while ago, we had 0 CBs.
osu was the CB leader before he announced UT was his #1. osu is still the CB leader to land him by quite a bit. Obviously if people were buying it, Tennessee would be sitting way out in front. Maybe the kid is being honest. It does seem that a lot of people think he is just setting up his announcement to osu.
With UT fans being the clear dominate force in recruiting on twitter/followers, I'd expect a lot more kids to use the UT fan base to hype up their recruitment like several have done lately.
Im not saying youre wrong, just the CB isnt an exact science like that. Most of the OSU predictions were before he said we were the leader. Not everyone of those guys will change their prediction instantly. Some of them dont like changing their predictions after every new bit of info. When his decision date gets a little closer, we will see some changes.

Don't they get credit for how many days out they made the correct prediction? If that were the case, I think most would quickly make the change IF they thought the kid was giving honest info. JMO
I don't think the CB predictions really matter. It might help/hurt the guy's reputation, but I don't think 247 really cares if they get if right or wrong simply because it is so unpredictable in its nature. I honestly think it is just a marketing tool to garner more interest to the website.
I would agree that a lot of the predictions mean little to nothing. There are a few guys on there worth listening to their opinion as of course they have a lot more contact with these recruits than most people do. IMO the CB stuff kind of went downhill when they started letting random recruits themselves make predictions.
Nick Marshall was a DB that converted into a QB. He seems to be doing ok. He has worked on his mechanics and from the results of AU spring game, he has improved. So why couldn't Gibson, who is just a QB improve? I am sure there are QBs that we're not thought of as SEC QBs until they got to their school, got to work with an SEC coaching staff and practice at the collegiate level.

TG is an elite talent and without question can play QB well in Butch's offense. We are talking a year of development, no more than two and he will be a big name everybody in CFB knows unless Fergy or Dobbs suddenly turns elite. I wanted Gentry the most because he is elite and could get ready faster in a pass first scheme. Butch has already proven in the past he can go with true dual threat QBs and adapt the scheme accordingly. If TG wants to be a VFL QB it would be fantastic. Picture a Colin Kaepernick style QB running the O.

From AU Rivals -
"My best hunch on Gibson is that Ohio State is current leader. I think Tennessee is 2nd and Auburn is probably third. I think Auburn has more work to do with McFadden but getting him up for the spring game was big. I'd say FSU is probably team to beat for him. Auburn wants both to come up for Big Cat. Not definite they're coming yet but it's a good sign their teammate is coming.
As far as QB recruiting goes, Auburn doesn't have to take a 2nd one in this class, but would definitely take Gibson or Kai Locksley."
